  1. Here’s my first piece of OA, long gone! Mike Vosburg was my art teacher one semester at college, I think 1991. On the last day he brought in a stack of art and one by one gave out one piece to each student. Unfortunately there were about 30 students and I was about the 25th one called up, so my choices were very limited. I always wondered if that stack had some G.I. Joe pages in it before I got to it!
  2. Should be 16-12 not including the cover. 16 page folios to the left of the stapes and 12 to the right.
  3. There are many vaults that have safety deposit boxes on an outside wall. Be sure your box is not on an outside wall as the contents will get hot and cold at an accelerated rate, especially if the sun hits the wall!
  4. When I was working on the pedigree book 12-14 years ago with Ritter, Nelson & Haspel we were sent a CD that had the full list along with some pics. The books looked very fresh!
  5. Overlay added. You can see the before pic here as well. https://www.comicartfans.com/gallerypiece.asp?piece=1354565
  6. Easily one of the most bizarre Golden Age stories ever! In this story, a penguin army with death-ray guns fight in WWII against the Japanese. A 7.5 just sold for about $600. Let's do $250 on this one. Grades about VG. Pages are off-white to white & supple. Free shipping to ConUs. Paypal payment preferred. 7 day return.
  7. After listening to the podcast I sent off 2 pieces to James. He was professional all the way! He catered to me, my questions & my worries. The art came out great! I'd highly recommend him!
  8. If you blow up the scan on Heritage's site, on the right edge I see 3 tears & 3 color breaking creases.
  9. He has a piece on CAF I wanted. I made him an offer and I didn’t even get a reply back. Guess he’s good!
  10. I have found a LOT of pedigrees over the years. I found a San Francisco Nation Comic #27 in Harley Yee’s box in the 90’s. In the late 80’s though Jon Warrens auctions I was sent a Cosmic Aeroplane Jumbo #161. I’ve found a few Mile Highs and other pedigrees some of which I told the dealer about because I didn’t want them or they were too overpriced regardless.
  11. That was probably my favorite show so far. Pat is a great interview! You can really feel the passion & excitement as he talks about comics & art. Looking forward to the next episode...just sad I have to wait 2 weeks!
  12. “Grail” can be very misleading. I have “grail” pieces and want other “grail” pieces that are $5000, $50,000, $500,000... If by “grail” you mean by definition the one and only piece that would make you complete, I suppose it depends on the cost of your personal grail piece, if the piece is even known to exist and if it is known to exist, will it ever be available within a reasonable amount of time. Answer those questions and you’ll have a pretty good answer as to what you should do.
  13. I wasn't drawing a comparison per se, just stating sales facts.
  14. I don't know. But look at the ASM #100 cover commission from 1994 Romita did. It sold in HA for $77,675 (link below). Who's to say what an unused cover or a commission cover redue will go for compared to one another. https://comics.ha.com/itm/original-comic-art/john-romita-sr-the-amazing-spider-man-100-cover-re-creation-original-art-1994-/a/7036-92223.s?ic4=ListView-ShortDescription-071515 Also, if you look on HA at the Batman #210 unused cover, it went for $3734 in 2014. That's about what I'd expect a vintage commissioned cover redue to sell for. The used cover (different artist) went for $30,070, also what I'd expect in comparison.
