Couldn't resist. Just had to see the insides of a Gaines File copy. Stunningly beautiful in color, structure, smell... and three of the stories dwell on the pressures of married life. Writer Otto Binder must have had an interesting social life, seeing as how his stories here kill all sorts of people, and in one tale ends with a gender-blending outcome that could not be predicted ...
I was doing some on-line window shopping the other day and ran across a mid-grade GFC of a Two-Fisted Tales, and seriously considered buying it just so I could crack it and savor the book ... I just might follow through on the thought.

Four more to finish (#15 (Copy A), #18, #19, and #20) ... ending with a three issue run.

Another three: #10, #11 and #12 (actually a 6-issue run .. you'd think I could count)

Three issue run #7, #8, and #9:

A few Gaines' HOFs (or is it HsOF?). Still filling in gaps, and hope to have a set completed in my lifetime.
Haunt of Fear #16(#2)
Haunt of Fear #4

(you know I want that one in my HOF collection!)
In all seriousness, these rank as the best books of the era IMO. Really sweet Gaine's copies Jeff. I can never get enough Gaines', but I'll have to stick to the one title.

Since the Cap movie will be coming out soon. I think this is one-of-a-kind. I originally posted in the SDCC thread (I think). I think it's signed by just about everyone including actors Chris Evans (Cap America) and Hugo Weaving (Red Skull). Hi Lloyd
I hate you with the white hot intensity of 10,000 suns......
Nice book!
Thanks ... I think.

Thanks guys. I have Startling #52 on the way in the next month or so. Hopefully, it will quell my airbrush fetish. Startling #49 has been on my watch/want list for quite some time.

PIcked these two up at the cc auction. When the Schomburg airbrush bug hits, it hits hard.

NICE!
Love the 36 and i would be PISSED for beating me out on the 70 but luckily i got the other one from Steve a few days later
Thanks! Yes, I saw where you picked the 70 up on the boards (congrats again). Interesting to see where the Pac Coast copy is sitting in the Pedigree auction.
I LOVED that 36 you got also. I really, REALLY wanted to go after it but i have a 9.2 and just cant go after upgrades since i need so many other issues i dont have at all. That is a SWEET copy!
Thanks. It's nice. The price was decent and it has slight bindery tears top and bottom, but other than that it presents very nicely. It replaces my 9.4 copy which to me actually presents a little better, but it has some edge bends (not color breaking creases) along the top of the front and back covers. My undercopy almost looks like a decent pressing candidate.

Arrived yesterday from the February CLink auction: Avengers 36 and Avengers 70

Timely did, however, publish a much broader range of titles than the focus of the collectors on this board would seem to indicate.
Yep, like Mighty Mouse - although immediately post-war. But we still get back to the tights thing again ...
Some really nice books showing up here these past few days. Congrats to the new owners! (thumbs u

so this issue # was the last I needed to complete my MMC run a few years ago...it had eluded me, and I was able to finagle Parker's copy out of his collection and into mine... since then, I have pretty much bought every copy I could (except for the one to replace parker's "hole")... this is the nicest I have
Nothing says gorgeous like a Schomburg putrid-green Hitler! Sweet!! One day I hope to have one in my hands.

Some nice ECs from yesterday's auction.
I really wanted that HOF 17. Great pickups!
I'm pretty sure I was bridesmaid on the HOF #17 auction. A great book to have! Another group of nice pick-ups Cheetah (thumbs u ... although I wish your interests would stay with VOH and Crypt!

I just picked up this bad boy to fill a hole in my X-men set. As an added bonus, I believe it qualifies as the worst miswrap in my entire collection, beating out my MTU 33! You be the judge.
Haha I'm sure it will be available in the not too distant future as an undercopy. I saw your Avengers #9 in one of the threads! That was one sweet pick-up Cheetah! It's one of my early favorite Avengers stories. Should be a key IMO. Just sayin' (apologies in advance for the wrong thread)

Thanks, Jeff! Yours are absolutely splendid! Of all the sets I hope to complete, GFC HsOF top my list. It may take awhile, maybe ... just maybe .. one day I'll get there.
