  1. I saw my first hillbilly as a child while on a family camping trip in Kentucky, my older brother had me yell out the car window to them to ask if they were hillbillies. My parents were not pleased
  2. True, especially for people who throw years old kudos in another persons face every chance they get, especially knowing the person who left those kudos has no bigger regret in the hobby spanning 30+ years.
  3. I think there are some people who're very happy that much of the history is disappearing from the boards, so the new people don't know what they're really dealing with
  4. After 30+ years of wanting this, I've finally procured one of the hardest Byrne items to get And yes, once the magazine bags and boards I've ordered have arrived I will be cracking this out to enjoy.
  5. Adams copied McFarlane? hehe I can honestly say that's the very first time I've ever heard that theory. McFarlane owes a lot to Art Adams, Michael Golden and John Byrne and has admitted as much in different interviews I've read.
  6. That's not why he's slow, ask anyone who's worked with him. He's basically lazy.
  7. I agree, McFarlane's art had a lot of energy. I recall John Byrne saying that when he first saw his art he commented on the energy on the page and said something along the lines of when he learns how to draw he'll become a force in the industry. Unfortunately he attained a level of popularity and he basically stayed the same. You can't argue with his success though, he's had an amazing career.
  8. He's certainly popular enough. There are a few other guys who're really popular who fit your criteria. J Scott. Campbell and Adam Hughes come to mind.
  9. That's an interesting point. My distinction would be if you make your living selling comics you're a "dealer" and if you make money on the side from your regular job, you're a "flipper".
  10. I don't understand how anyone can confuse Art Adams who knows how to draw..and McFarlane who does not. Unless it's all the line work? But even then you have line work placed by a hand that understands what he's doing vs superfluous lines that give the appearance of detail. Not going to argue taste, as that's subjective.
  11. You don't look like you have money.
  12. What's your secret? I've been 3 different times and we've been harassed all 3.
  13. Yeah fun...standing in line to get your place to stand in another line.
  14. I never get those kinds of graders notes from the guy I use
  15. I'm surprised no one asked who the original presser was.
  16. It’s kind of a cool piece of comic history. Promo posters aren’t exactly rare but they’re not always easily available either.
  17. Color me surprised as well. I've seen threads shut down when a certain person is feeling attacked, though I'm sure that's just a coincidence.
  18. I find it a little obnoxious personally. I don't care if I sell something to someone and they flip it, but asking ME to ship it to the person they sold it to is something I would never ask anyone to do.
