  1. Playing the victim must be fun, I wouldn't personally know, but I hear things
  2. I always find it amazing that a child like GIJOEISAWESOME could figure out a way to successfully ( albeit shady ) flip comics and yet we see adults regularly joining and asking the same question essentially " how can I make money flipping comics"? But...on the other hand I know more than a few people who have zero...and I mean ZERO love for comics...as in wearing it as a badge of honor that they don't read them...be very successful selling comics, to the point where they contemplated quitting their day job and doing comics full time
  3. He's only got 5 posts, how much less can he do it?
  4. I think he meant the making fun of others for their gender fluidity
  5. I find plenty of books for myself and to flip during normal convention hours Getting in early doesn’t hurt but I don’t do all my buying before a show starts. I used to have the same impression that all the “good stuff” was going to be gone before I could even get in and that’s just not true, at least it hasn’t been for me. The different situation is if you’re in early and you get offered first looks at new stuff. I can tell you from personal experience that getting in early does not guaranty that.
  6. Maybe? Personally I don't want books for myself that have staple replacements, trimmed edges or color touch.
  7. I get what you're saying and I know quite a few collectors have been so turned off by the market acceptance of it that they've stopped collecting comics. Unfortunately for them it's a bell that can't be un rung. I can only speak for myself, but it doesn't bother me
  8. The graders at CGC are not infallible, humans make mistakes. Nothing is 100%, but they've evened out the playing field quite a bit as the old days were like the wild west.
  9. Yes, there are obvious examples and most of us who've been around long enough have seen our fair share of examples
  10. I never said pressing wasn't restoration. But smoothing out a non color breaking fold is not the same thing as trimming or replacing staples.
  11. Maybe you're more of an expert As I've stated earlier in the thread, all pressing is not created equally.
  12. Well, my point really was that there are a lot of people selling high grade books out there that have been pressed and a lot of those aren't in slabs. It's easy to say you only hunt for high grade "survivors", but I would posit that most would not be able to tell the difference if the presser has done a good job.
  13. There are a lot of national dealers who sell raw comics that are already pressed
