  1. A very good call. I'll be optimistic - $16,200 nice call! you've been watching the price is right...
  2. here: http://www.comiclink.com/Auctions/search.asp?FocusedOnly=1&where=auctions&title=turtles+1&x=0&y=0&ItemType=CB can you believe there are now 17 9.8's!!! wow!
  3. thanks everyone for the good words! The pictures don't do them justice as they really pop in person. I think Adam is referring to the 6th print Deluxe Edition. It was printed in 1992 after the original series of oversized comics (1984-1985) so I don't consider it to be on par. It's a great book but since it's in color and on high quality paper it doesn't garner a place amongst the originals with the black and white newspaper feel. My set focuses on books that predate 1990 when I think the art was at it's best and it still had an underground appeal.
  4. I recently was able to complete a personal goal of collecting all the original TMNT oversize books in 9.8. It was quite an endeavour. This might be the first time that they have all been pictured together in 9.8 goodness: now to get them all SS'd
  5. I think it's because the series ended with #71 and the later numbers were much lower prints than compared to the earlier numbers. I don't collect these myself but I have watched the prices climb over the last few years.
  6. awesome thanks! I forgot about that one in Turtle Soup and will reread asap!
  7. I recently re-read the Usagi Yojimbo #10 with Leonardo's appearance. It had been a while. I was surprised to see it was Peter Laird who wrote and penciled the story. It was a long time ago I read the issue and I had assumed it was Stan Sakai. The story finishes with Usagi recounting he had many adventures with Leonardo after their first meeting. Are there any others stories anywhere that continue this particular partnering?
  8. That's an amazing one off piece that could have truly started it all...thanks for sharing it with us!!
  9. Congrats on the 9.6! Make sure to post it once it arrives...
  10. WTTB to the boards halperin45 and jterp5 If you want to buy or trade for any books you should post it here: Want to Buy
  11. Nice pickup! looks really clean... probably not... You'll have to fork out some bills for the higher grades of the #3 variant: 7.5 blue label signed $900 July 2013 8.0 blue label $795 November 2013
  12. Check out this page for pics of the Zeck sketch: http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=2633561&fpart=118
  13. I know of 2 boardies, including myself, who have the special missions Zeck sketch, but neither are for sale. I came across mine on ebay for $15 bin about 8 years ago (I'm not sure it was $15 but it was cheap). I didn't know it even existed before that and it was very random that I came across it. One will show up, just keep looking...The others on your list are too modern for me. I started out collecting the first IDW series but then there were too many joe titles and variants every month and I lost interest. Good luck with your search...
  14. Very cool! I really like the storm shadow swipe....
  15. I was bidding on that #2 on ebay. Once it hit a grand I was out.
  16. That would be something to behold! +1 that would be an auction that would hit $100k me thinks...
  17. There are now 500 CGC graded #1's! and 15 9.8's... that means 1/6th of the population has been graded and of those 3% are 9.8 and 6% are 9.6 not bad!
  18. My second print looks a little different than all these too...Canadian edition? I will post pics when I get to that box... The original print run for the first print was lower than #1 which may explain all the prints to keep up with demand???I remember issue2 commanding a higher price than issue 1 during the 80's.
