  1. I hope I have friends as forgiving as you Rick. Personally, I think his mixed up scans story was -and-bull.

To quote something a friend said to me once:

If I ever did anything like that, I would hope [my friends] had the common courtesy to bust me in the mouth and bring me back to reality.

funny, wish you could read our (frank and my) pm (thumbs u

I hope his PMs are more "normal"

than a bunch of ahahahahaahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahaahahah lollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollollol

often how one reacts on the face of embarrassment says a lot to me about the sincerity of the person....coming out swinging, calling names, insulting everyone else's intelligent are the worse reactions possible.

  2.

Just to be sure I understand this right, are you saying that the book you were selling is not the same as the scan you did provide, in other words that a buyer would have received a different book than the one pictured in the scan ?

I am waiting for the buyer to post a complain that he didn't receive the book in the scans and the book is actually worse than 8.5

hmm....I am confused, maybe the buyer is on Ebay and not on this board so we won't

or.....is the buyer at Wondercon and there is no eyewitness?

good god, there is more holes in this nonsense than the slice of swiss cheese I just ate with my sandwich.

  4. Where the hell do you find these gems? They are friggin awesome, no wonder you are thrilled. :o

the majority, if not all the high grade bronze raw ASM books came from one collector. I bought out his ASM run long ago...sadly, many of his SA books were Ct'ed and I bought them too before I knew anything about restorations. In hindsight, I am pretty sure he knew about the restorations on them but didn't disclose them....Heck, he might have done it himself!

Luckily the newer books that he had were in great condition. Eventhough I really didn't store them all that well and he didn't either...most of the books came back ow/w or w. with 9.2 to 9.8

here is the last one of that batch....I actually thought this book was trimmed so I sent it to Matt Nelson to check and he gave it a clean bill of health and it came back clean.

  5. just in today...another batch of real nice ASM. There is one missing so I hope tomorrow I can call CGC to see if it is misplaced somewhere. I am trill at the results of all the ASM submission I got back in the past 3 weeks.

    asm103.jpgasm112.jpgasm125.jpg

  6. I finally got the batch of 9.8 pre-screen done and I will pick them up Wednesday at CGC. i sent a lot of books to 9.8 pre-screen and some for 9.6 and about 80% of the books made the cut so I will have a sale thread later this week for CGC 9.8 bronze.

Here are the titles that will be in them for those that are curious

    Iron Man

    Hulk

    Avengers

    Howard the Duck

    Eternals

    Black Panthers

    Red Sonja

    Invaders

Most of the books are from 1977 to 1979 time frame so hopefully it will be provide some nice books for a few people.

Over the next 2 months I will list other titles when I have a chance but here are a sample of what will be listed also

    Conan

    Thor

    FF

    Ms Marvel

    Green Lantern/Green Arrow

    Flash

    Firestorm

    Godzilla

    Micronauts

etc...too many to mention but you get the idea...some mainstream titles and a lot of "B" titles but they will be priced to go.

Lastly I will have a separate thread for X-men and ASM, lot of high grade bronze from 9.4 to 9.8 next week.

  7.

looks like the one asking $50k was yanked today...not one stinky offer at $25k or above.

  8. ah...the Pacific Coast copy. I am not surprise th (shrug)ere.

There are two Pacific Coast X-Men #1 copies, the other one is a 9.8 white. Doug used to own both, but he upgraded the 9.6 to a 9.8 and sold the one pictured above. My memory is telling me this one was a 9.4 at some point, but I could be misremembering that. (shrug)

sounds like anything that passed thru Doug was/is/will be maximized ;)

  9. Thanks, the large Avengers # 4 is a colour recreation I commissioned. I sold 5 copies of Avengers # 4 last year which I also regret including my cgc 7.0 copy.

If you sold them last year, wouldn't it be cheaper now to buy similar raw books or slabs in similar grades cheaper? for high grade, the Avengers #4 has slid 30 to 40% off the high.
