thanks. I can't believe I had it for all these years. This book was given to me for free when I bought a better copy years ago at a convention. I remembered buying a mid grade raw comic and I was haggling the price with the dealer and I think he threw this water damaged copy as a freebie for the full price on the better copy. I think he had a box full of water damaged stuff that that he was giving away. I never even bothered to open the book for almost 30 years until now. I was just about to throw it out and decided to flip thru it to see how badly the water damage was and wowza.

I was going thru my old FF low/mid grade box of readers and I was just about to toss this water damaged issue but I flipped open and see the sig...no idea if it is real but I might just cut out the page and frame the splash page

nothing special but i didn't realize I have these 2 books all these years and I don't even remember how or where I got them. The cover on 83 is 80% split so it won't take much to fall apart.

nice a high grade double cover!

nothing special. Just a few of my SA GL books that are in decent shape

for the Hulk fans out there

here is my one and only Pedigree courtesy of Brian/Foolkiller (thumbs u

I think it was ok at first because he was new and had no idea what he was doing but then to continue to throw out books without scans or anything is kind of offensive. It is too bad that some people can't resist the "deal" so as long as there are buyers, then he will continue to carry on.
Like JC said all those years ago "The Devil could come on here selling and there would be a line-up of buyers supporting him"
If those would have been $5.00 books how fast would the flame-throwing have started?

absolutely true...double standards on this forum? surely you kid

nice Avengers 1.....looks like she got a ton of positive reviews in the last 6 months
-
looks like the Pedigree Grand Auction next Jan will also have X-men 1 9.2 as well as 9.4 for #2 to #4
I guess we won't have to wait till Feb to see the fireworks. Sellers are coming out of the woodwork to get ahead of each others.
I don't be surprise at all if some one else threw a 9.0 or 9.2 copy in the CL exchange before then.
-
wowza...the book didn't even last 24 hours. X-men #1 9.0 cream/ow
even with that PQ, that is a great price..I wished I placed that offer
-
here is one of my new addition...shocking that this is a 9.2 while the number 2 is only 8.0
Regardless, the color is super bright. This one is a beauty but there are 3 dings on the spines..mine #2 spine is much cleaner.
-
latest addition....not quite as nice as Casey's X-men #28 at the Feb CL auction but good enough to allow me to focus on other books
-
got me a copy finally!!!.. but i also have a slightly nicer copy coming to me pretty soon so ill submit both when i have them in hand
dude, X-men 1 and this and other keys in just the last few weeks...you are going nut (thumbs u

I agree, it is the best looking 8.0 you are going to find for this book out there. Truth be told, the back of book, top edge has some overhang "damage" that lowered the grade, otherwise a 9.0 would have been possible.
What's the PQ on it listed as ?

looking good. By the way, I hear the word "release paper" used quite often on this thread? what the heck is that?
love the square bounded annuals . I am starting to have a fetish for these square bounded books . I might be going after square bound books just for the fun of it after I complete my X-men and ASM runs.

my first sale ever. It is time to get rid of some books. Next week if I have the time. I will list about 50 raw books.
All X-men SA 3.0 to 7.5 from issue #3 to # 89 (25 issues)
all X-men BA 6.0 to 9.2 from issue #97 to 143 (25 issues)
all will be price as low as hell for a quick fun sale.
I have had most of these for 20 to 25 years.
PM me if you have any issues specific in mind..I am scanning them all right now, just the front so if you have anything specific where you want to see the backs, let me know.

That deuce is a killer !!!
(Wanna sell it?)
thanks all for the compliments. I will sell this book at cost to you if you will sell your AF 15 7.0 at cost to me
your AF 15 7.0 is the nicest 7.0 I have seen...that book is A KILLER

courtesy of the Mound auction today.
the corners are great. The key problem area that kept this book from getting higher grade imho is the top edge of the back cover. The overhang wasn't pretty and I can see it from the scan prior to the auction and in hand, it wasn't as bad.
-
any stains/rusty staple(s)? hard to tell with your scan. check the spine for tear or split also.
This week in your collection?

I figured some of you guys would not like the idea of the "cut out"
I have found the best option to enjoy the sig. I will get a frame big enough to fit the book opened. Any suggestions on what I can stick in the frame to slow down the degradations of this book. It is not brittle but as you can see from the pic, other things are "growing".
