Weird question but why are the non Batman covers so undervalued? Detective 28 seems so undervalued when you consider it's the 2nd appearance of Batman
Because in today's 'all show with very little go' market covers take precedence over interiors.
indeed

You have a very wrong "feeling", 10%. Tec 27-37 will never be less expensive than they are now. Ten years from now the complete restored copies of 27 may be worth $1 million, I predict.
hands down Theres no way a beater with makeup will crack a milly. thats beyond insane imho - even in 10 years
-
Just had a gut feeling books commin down. Ya know wh'um sayin ...
-
Book finally coolin, or still white hot?
-
Just checked the AF15 CGC census today. There are now four 9.6 universal.
9.6s they usually go fer 1 mill a pop right?
-
Vast swaths of fabulously well written 80's and 90's books that go begging. Animal Man, for instance. It's one of the best series of the late 80's, and no one cares.
Sandman, of course. Every single book of that run should be $10 or more each.
Swamp Thing by Moore.
Miracleman.
From Hell.
Green Lantern: Emerald Dawn
Tons of stuff.
From Hell
From Hell = best graphic novel I have ever read ... Ever.

These threads always confuse me as how one should participate...
If I name a book I DO NOT have, I run the risk of naming things that others will now go after and perhaps acquire before I do. Why should I create competition for myself.
If I name a book I DO have then I run the risk of appearing as if I am trying to hawk my own book so I can sell it as demand increases.
So, name a book that you DO NOT have that you WILL NOT be purchasing.
Here's my answer:
Action Comics #1
It's the most expensive comic, and it will ALWAYS be the most expensive comic.
So, all these other books might have room to grow, but they have a ceiling.
Action Comics #1 has no ceiling.
There will eventually be a $10,000,000 comic... and it will be Action #1.
A1 sure is a nice funny book, but ... 10 mill. seriously. thats insane imho.

This type of "resto" is very depressing. So selfish.
hmm, when final hammer price arrives at sellers bank account, i bet the depression is suddenly gone?
-
could it possibly scrape back into a 2.0ish blue holder?
-
IIRC, that copy previously sold on HA.com for $107k (give or take). This was within the last two years...?
So, we're now lookin at exponential growth for this book...?
-
All this (technical) resto talk makes my head hurt.
The book looks great. Only thing not great about it is the trim and the price tag.
They're askin how much?
Which venue?
-
No, it is in a CGC holder (the pressure sealed one).
https://www.pedigreecomics.com/auction-detail.php?issue_id=55668
oh I see
sharp copy by the way
wish it was miiiiiiine
-
Pedigree just auctioned off a pretty sharp 9.4 for $1,695.00.
I hope the winner gets it reholdered as it is in the vise grip holder. It is a pretty copy.
= Volde holder?

S'long as a moderator is posting CBCS scans, I'm safe. Just came back from a wrist slap ( 2 days off ) for posting this CBCS scan in CG.
Don't look at me..first time I've logged on in a long time.
I might be in trouble too.
Relax, - as long as the thread is about slamming Voldemort, you are perfectly safe.
-
if they are the same book...compare this to the original, and it sure looks trimmed to me, doesn't it....look at that right edge? lot missingBound to happen ...
Oh no, man
this is not happening: destruction af national heritage
only for greed. SHAME on these Guys ...
-
Man what a pity this is happening to these historic books. But I guess they wouldn't keep doing it if there weren't a market.
yes its kind of sad.
the same with books being disassembled sold one page at a time. i predicted this trend in 2009.

Boldemort shouldnt havd slabbed this

I agree with that sentiment! Asking prices are absolutely in the stratosphere!
I wholeheartedly agree with that sentiment! Asking prices are in the stratosphere!Am I the only person who thinks the pre-Robin Detectives have hit insane prices?I am pretty sure everyone thinks this.
Everyone but the sellers.
Should have bought one a couple of years ago. Now I don't think I will ever get one.
As a consequence of being priced out of these books i suffer from ball sweat when i watch the auctions where they change hands.
Ehhh..oh-kay then...Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, hilarious but nevertheless true.
I thought quite a few boardies might fell the same.
I mean desiring these books has just become stratosfericly expensive.
Or thats probably just me ...

Other than the infamous ASM 129 roach drawing...
I thought this is a candidate.
(of course with him puling in $100 per sig, he doesn't care what he signs)
utterly disgusting.
this endless line of defaced books must come to and end.
but it wont stop
cause he gets 100 quits a sig ...

Millers greatest work is Holy Terror.
A seminal piece in the war of the western world against islamic terror.

The poor thing was obviously "stan-lee'd".
