  1. Mmmmm....UK reprints I still miss my collection of Marvel Super-Heroes like a long lost brother...
  2. Me also (Sometimes I forget there are pages outside of General and Modern)
  3. Just received my six raw Zenescope con variants. Fantastic quality books and expertly packaged to easily survive the transatlantic trip. I'd definitely buy by from Dre again.
  4. The last part of my first submission finally made it home today. Not a significantly high grade but sits well in the mid-grade SS vol 1 collection I'm slowly pulling together. Plus not a bad pick up for only £12 (About $19)
  5. Jedi, WTTB. That's a huge set of great reading material. Great looking room.
  6. I remember picking up issues 1-10 of Marvel Super Heroes (UK reprint of Silver Surfer vol 1 and UXM) for £1.00 at Redcar Racecourse car booty (One for the Teessiders). I loved those comics but gave them to a young neighbor before moving south. I also had the Hulk reprints as well. if I remember rightly, they featured a Captain Britain backup story.
  7. Sweet mother of pearl!!! Good work fella
  8. 4 long boxes 12 normal sized boxes 6 short boxes 30 Volstors containing 30 issues each It's about time I started to catalogue them all Also 20 slabs
  9. LoneTree, those are some sweet books.
  10. Glad I don't make similar mistakes in real life. Always beware the adam's apple!!!
  11. So I finally got around to sending my first submission. Generally quite satisfied with the results (In that they mostly matched what I expected). I suppose these are not quite up to Dre standards but we’ve all got to start somewhere. Firstly, and definitely my pick of the bunch, Grimm Fairy Tales 1 (First printing) Next a couple of GFT 28 variants Fantastic Realm “Red Lingerie” version Fantastic Realm “Nude” version Next up – a pair of GFT 29 variants The Fantastic Realm “Virgin” Exclusive And the Fantastic Realm “Gold” Exclusive. This was my big let down. Looks like I missed a spine tick  Now another couple of 9.6’s. I’ve struggled to find any copies of either of these without spine ticks. These will do as placeholders until I find suitable upgrades. GFT 34 “Hello Kitty” variant And GFT 36 “Rubber Ducky” variant And now back on to the 9.8’s GFT 41 “Battlezone” variant And GFT 43c The last two are a little more mainstream Phoenix –Endsong 1a – Greg Land Variant. I was expecting 9.6 here. Decided to slab it for sentimental reasons. It’s the only comic my wife has ever bought. She knows it’s my favourite modern cover and surprised me with a copy of this variant edition to go with my standard copy. And Finally, Generation Hope 3a - Greg Land Variant. This is the only floppy I picked up on my recent trip to NYC. I don’t follow the series and only know the details which are featured in UXM. To be honest, the reason I bought it was I was quite impressed with Land’s cover (The blurry effects look great) and I actually thought the character was Rachel Summers (Phoenix 2) so I thought it would go really well with the Endsong 1s. Turns out it’s not Rachel. In fact turns out the character isn’t even female…
  12. I do indeed. I'm an old timer in this industry with 15 years in the gaming biz. I worked for Microsoft for 10 or so years and worked on Halo Wars; thus the giant Master Chief. I've got all kinds of Halo junk lying around... I think I love you......
  13. Halo Legendary Edition Even without the Master Cheif related loveliness, that's a great display. (thumbs u
  14. Bit like Wales then? So many potentially defamatory comments. So little time....
  15. where can you get the magazine holders at a reasonable price? Ikea
  16. Thread to be renamed "Infrequently visited Corner of the UK"
  17. So, 1 month before the finale of Keys to the Kingdom, I'm finally up to speed with the whole L&K series. I've enjoyed it so much that I'll probably have a second read through over the next week or so. One thing it has done is given me the urge to re- read the IDW series of Great and Secret Show. The tone and content of both stories is quite similar, although I have to admit that I think I'll always prefer Clive Barkers writing to Joe's. The similarities between the two series is helped by the fact that GR provided the art to both. Looking forward to a night of fantasy horror goodness
  18. Great looking room. Are those black cases Volstor boxes? I've got about 30 with my UXM collection in. They aren't widely used due to the cost but offer fantastic protection. One thing I would say though is I wouldn't be too keen on those 3/4 height brown boxes. If the room gets any light for a prolongued period, you may end up sun-bleaching the top section of each of the front books. I learned the hard way when the front issue in each of my short boxes ended up with a handhold shaped bleached oval. Simple answer, ensure the front book is boarded and face it backwards in the box, therefore light will only bleach the board, not the book. In any case - great room and a great looking collection
  19. Love the YMCA dance / kung-fu on the cover. Suppose it's what it would look like if the Village People had invented the can can
  20. A little OT but I thought I'd share these. I'm not really into statues or toys but when a colleague told me he had these and was willing to sell at a knock down price I couldn't say no. Firstly a pair of uber-sweet Bowen busts [/img] The Galactus bust is fantastic (And a little on the huge side) Next was this little gem. Only cost me 50p (about 30c). Looking at the state of the box I wasn't sure if all the pieces were included. [/img] After an hour of child-like jigsaw shenanigans [/img]
  21. Finally got around to reading vol 1 after reading all the gushing reviews in this thread. Certainly did not dissappoint. Great art, fabulous writing and a thoroughly absorbing storyline. Time to order some new Tpbs. Better late than never.
  22. That looks amazing. Great way to show off an awesome collection of books. Good work fella.
  23. Aaahhh. Quintessential British comedy. Is it any wonder our American cousins cannot grasp the subtle intricacies of classic slapstick. I'm still waiting them create a U.S. remake of Some Mothers Do 'av em
