I can't help but think this cautionary tale and how this modern day Icarus got his monetary wings melted, might have helped a few other folks who jumped at 9.9's and 10's on moderns afterwards. But then there wouldn't have been any squealing like a pig.

I kinda do. They're ruining the efficacy of the PL, which hurts us all and makes this a less safe place to do business. I disagree. It does nothing to the efficacy of the PL. Because there are a pantsload of people doing transactions with PL people anyway, but they don't have the balls to come out and say it right up front. They just do it via PM or whatever. I don't sell to anyone on the PL (if I catch it) or anyone that I think is a j-hole. But I am protective of my right to make that choice myself. I ain't stepping on no one's rights man!! But I disagree with your disagreement. Secret PM deals with PLers do not erode efficacy of the PL as a deterrent as much as those done in bright daylight. I also disagree with the next guy to post on the subject, but I agree with post after that. Even though you are wrong, I respect your opinion.

All I can hope is that some day some industrious Economics Student does a google search on their Economics Professor, manages to put two and two together, and then facefarks him with this wall of deliciousness. Aside from the bolded part (specifically the implication that value of his NM 98 9.9 will not fall), what's so wrong about this post? I haven't checked his numbers on values of specific issues in specific grades, but assuming he's not making them up... Does there need to be something more than that? That was his thesis. It was as wrong as anything could ever be.

Then hoarding takes over. Nice ceiling fan. Ugghh. Can't stand when people keep action figures in the packages, and THEN display them. Either take them out and display them, or keep them in storage if you're going to sell them. Ugh. Can't stand when d-bags tell other people how to collect and display their own stuff.

I have seen at least one seller make it clear that Probation listers can purchase if they make special arrangements.

I would not bother, but some people are super anal about that stuff. So there is probably a group of collectors for whom that would be a big deal.
