  1. Kids are resilient. Remind her of all the time she did spend with her pet, and how much he loved her.
  2. Both of those guys are very used to dealing with window bagged books. BUT REMEMBER you can't just "submit" the books after they have been signed. They have to be witnessed as they are being signed. I can't tell you how many times I have been hanging around the booth at Chicago and some irate person starts yelling about how he wants to "submit" his recently signed books for SS. Happens EVERY year.
  3. Most of the time you see "Mods notified" it is a joke. Every time I have ever hit the mods notified button, it has indicated that the Mods have already been notified. My standard for hitting the button is pretty high. I think I have done it 6 or 8 times in the time I have been here. Probably 5 of those are Nerf before i put him on Ignore.
  4. Did you eat a lot of paint chips as a child?
  5. In some ways it is a personal discussion, but it is personal to oneself, as opposed to projecting upon another person, the way many here are trying to do. I have many flaws. Self-delusion is not one of them. In my many years on the Boards I have let my judgmental, priggish (and prickish) side govern my behavior from time to time. I have trolled people, at times mercilessly. I am not proud of it. The Ignore function doesn't save me from other people. It saves those people and the community from me. The community gets more of Sean and less of Sean. And the community still gets plenty of If nothing else, I would suggest that every one at least consider that Moderation starts at one's own keyboard. Chances are you are not going to change the person that grinds your gears. But, you may be able to change your own posting behavior in a way that benefits yourself, your blood pressure and the Community. I was told this will never, ever happen I'm pretty sure you misunderstand me, then, entirely.

  7. Actually, saying "sarcasm is the lowest form of wit" is the lowest form of wit.
  8. I'm going to go with mocking. The British cabal can't unbunch its collective panties when it comes to RMA. Why can't Chuck Gower get cracking on the true Ignore function? Stupid Chuck Gower.
  9. This is not what I said. And the fact that you either know that I didn't say that, or are unable to distinguish what I said is the problem. Not just the problem, a perfect recapitulation.
  10. You have a book I want as well, but I still have much love
  11. I lol'd. But he is still a huge dork. He is mixing his milk and meat by introducing Locked Thread Points Challenge concepts into a moderation thread. It shows the low quality of his reasoning.
  12. What does "hassling" mean? I Pm'd Arch when I got wrist slapped. My righteous indignation meter was pegged in the red. We had a good back and forth. Then he pulled out my guts like in Braveheart while I yelled "Freedom!!!!!!!" People should be able to PM the mods and ask questions. Hopefully you get some kind of answer.
  13. I don't think my issues were about injustice at all. I believe moderators shouldn't be seen, nor heard - and when required to act, to look at things in context. After all, if moderating comments that violate the rules is purely random - as the speeding example implies - then why have moderators at all? You could simply put a monkey in an office chair and have it issue strikes without doing any due diligence or citing why those strikes were given. Or develop a software algorithm that strikes people randomly based on naughty keywords or percentages of flesh-colored pixels in attached files. Sarcasm + disdain + reductio ad absurdum = awesome sauce
  14. That came through pretty clear. He was wrong when he gave my wrist slap, though. My use of sarcasm is intended to instruct, not denigrate. If Arch hadn't deleted the PM, he would have seen that.
