  1. I cant remember the exact quote, but I attribute it to @FlyingDonut - to paraphrase, "Never be ashamed of selling at a profit."
  2. Very well said, Pat. One of the crazy things about the new Boards - it has all of your old PMs in it, even if you removed yourself. So on the old Boards, I still had my final PM to Nik as kind of a memorial. But here, all of my old PMs with him are back, including my submissions to his grading contest. I also had forgotten how much stuff I bought from him. And one time I even begged him in a PM to flip me a book he bought on the Boards that I had on my want list. Of course he did. I even found a PM where CGC had rejected him as an SS witness (not just him, they has a moratorium on any new witnesses) and he was kind of ticked off. In my final PM to him, I referred to him as the "Chairman of the Boards." He still is as far as I am concerned. We were not friends, but we were sure friendly. Some of my good friends on here were pretty tight with him and I like to think that I would have been if he had been given a bit more time. RIP to NIk and PsychoJ and everyone that has left us too soon.
  3. That looks like the "opposite" of trimming to me - it looks like a very dull blade cut that right edge and left it super shaggy.
  4. I have limited this only to books I still have . . . http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=7739&GSub=627 http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=15123&GSub=627 http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=4073&GSub=1792 http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=17103&GSub=627 http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=13808&GSub=1171
  5. I think any of those are good choices. It just bums me out because it appears to be a super high grade copy. Just beautiful. I have an entire longbox of signed raw comics. I absolutely love them. I don't care whether they are authenticated or not. I got them all myself. The only issue is resale. That ship has sailed, mostly because of the accomplished fraudsters and all the nightmare situations with autographed sports memorabilia.
  6. I love signed books as much or more than anyone. No one should have been anywhere near that copy with a pen unless a CGC witness was involved. Now you have a 9.4+ copy that is de-valued by a huge factor.
  7. Richie is the greatest (when he is not making me sit in the Palmiotti Conner line)
  8. Tons of them get used for Sig Series - when you transfer the book from your window bag over to CGC they have tons of old mylars that are used for transport back to CGC.
  9. Good luck my friend. I was at the Hulk live auction, bidding against Steve Borock. He let me win one of them (LOL) which I had for years and then sold to Troy. I think that was the last live auction before they started doing them online.
  10. No, I do not. I think she did a Hulk one. I don't know if that is the one you mentioned that Troy has. She could have done one for each of the projects, but I do not know.
  11. There were no regular Marie Severins done - only the Hero Initiative or other similar sketch covers
  12. He's even less cool than I already thought he wasn't.
  13. I just want to drop in and remind someone that "monetizing" and "monotonizing" are two wildly different things . . .
  14. Fantastic book! Not the single highest graded. http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=37457&GSub=627
