  1. Adult Protective Services has already been called out to his mansion in Santa Barbara. All is well.
  2. Don't get too carried away. This is still mine. http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=13808
  3. (1) The is nothing I see that indicates trimming (2) Suck it, Spoon
  4. I posted this in CG, but it qualifies for this thread as well: http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=7012&GSub=631
  5. I had heard lots of stories about West being surly, but I met him 2 or three times and he was always holding court as the most charming guy you ever would want to meet. http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=7012&GSub=631
  6. As with most things on these boards, the sizzle is being sold, not the steak.
  7. It's pretty complicated, even just using GPA. The values for 2.5-3.5 Stan Lee SS books are widely different than their blue label counterparts - some higher and some lower. Ask again later.
  8. There is a Firestorm #1 in the 1st picture. Decent book depending upon condition.
  9. That's just mean. It is better than the dreaded T. McFarlane!
  10. I didn't go anywhere. I described the only real risk in getting her sig going forward - IF she becomes a major star. If you actually read what people wrote you would seem like much less of a vapid tool.
  11. Nobody in this thread would be talking s#!t about Samcro if Jax or Tiggy were around.
  12. Infinity Inc. - Good embryonic McFarlane http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=27122&GSub=629 By Hulk 345 - Wow! http://www.myslabbedcomics.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Piece=26573&GSub=1827
  13. The only real risk is that this vaults her into the ScarJo - Angelina Jolie level of star. If it does, she will likely not sign again, at least not en masse.
  14. The funniest thing about this is that the only issue with Starlin and SS for all the years prior to this is that Starlin stated that he has a bad reaction, possibly some type of allergy, to a component of Silver Sharpies. So you had to deal with black signatures, sometimes on black backgrounds. So everyone kind of knew to work around that. Other than that, he was just a moderately sought after SS guy. His older stuff is well loved, but his demand was nowhere near most of the prolific and popular modern guys. I sure do hope that someday cooler heads can prevail, and everyone can work together.
  15. It seems like a lot of modern variants are cranked through every month, but I don't know which is a larger portion of modern subs. I would think it was blue label.
  16. Not only that, but the Yellow label originally was intended to be a tentpole to keep modern submissions rolling in, and the CPR game has taken up more slack than anyone could have ever envisioned, so there is not as much incentive to work on the SS system.
  17. It has been going on for more time than most people think. The first time I remember seeing it was with the Swamp Thing creators in Cincy in 2012. Zeck and Beatty have had two prices for years in addition to the aforementioned Marv Wolfman. I would prefer for creators to say "my signing fee is X." But for me, the most important thing is them being clear, concise and upfront about what their fee is, so i can make an informed decision about what I am going to do. I did fewer books at the Cincy show than I had intended when the books went went from $5 a sig to $20 overnight (if it was in a window bag). In those days most of the debate is that it was really hurting CGC because it would reduce the number of subs. So there was kind of a groundswell to get CGC to get in front of it and get some "standardization" of costs. They did for a while, with lots of signings at the booth, where all CGC books were treated similarly. The new normal is more back to the "Wild Wild West" as I see it.
  18. I was probably not paying attention, as is the case with most of the pablum on this board. But this happens to be in a thread *GASP* that I actually care about.
  19. That's fine. You have the right to do whatever you want to do unless and until you are moderated. But at least have the intellectual honesty to admit that you really don't care about the real issue at hand, and you are just fomenting your anti-RMA agenda in a most tedious fashion.
  20. Oh, I am interested. I have owned, created and sold more SS books than almost anyone in this thread. But for you to pound your shoe about RMA speaking in absolutes and then say what you said is the absolute definition of ridiculousness.
  21. Me and the little girl object to the way you are abusing both logic and the English language. It's obvious that you just want to bite at RMA's tail as you circle him endlessly. If I thought that you did have a point, I would probably disagree with it.
