  1. You pulled it. His quoted words say that the "The signature only amplifies the value that already exists." The definition of amplify is as follows: Amplify definition, to make larger, greater, or stronger; enlarge; extend If one posits that the signature amplifies the value, then one is stating affirmatively that condition is not the sole factor. Your continual logic fail is effectively trolling him. You are typing illogical falsehoods. Please stop humping logic, it doesn't like it.
  2. Now that you have the quote function figured out, spend some time on logic.
  3. A lot of future collectors will. Particularly the OCD ones, which are in ample supply in this hobby. However, not all of them will, because there always have been and there always will be collectors who appreciate the fact that there is an enduring connection via signature between the art and the artist. They will seek out certified autographed copies.
  4. As you have said many times, more often it is the preservation of the book and the grade that it receives that is more important for value of SS. Unless the signature is truly rare or currently unavailable, it provides a nominal increase in value. Get a Warlock 9 signed by Starlin, one in 9.8 and one in 9.0. See who is getting "rich" "off Starlin's sig." But this is the same garbled understanding of the market that has affected the program since the industry became aware of it. The Al Plastino situation is the last time it flared up.
  5. I'm pretty sure those Superboys were the very first SS I ever did for myself. Memory Lane . . .
  6. The Funniest of all time for me was Milk and Cheese. 10-15 LOLs per issue.
  7. When they merged my accounts it happened like that. My custom is wrong too. It used to be "You earn it. It's like MMA for Nerds." But I remembered it wrong and told Arch wrong and now it is wrong. via Imgflip Meme Generator
  8. I am more interested in how he got a book published in late 1981 signed by Kirby in the late 70's.
  9. It is not much different than doing any type of business transaction remotely. You find out which facilitator (the name for the guys that get things signed for 3rd parties) is handling the event at which you want to get stuff signed. You reach out to them and find out what the costs are. The more you need them to do, the more expensive it will be. If you can prep your own books, do your own paper work etc. It will likely be less than if you just send them books and they do everything. But ask your questions up front and be persistent until you are comfortable with the process. You send them the books (Make sure you are conversant with best practices for shipping books) and you wait to get them back. If you are the impatient/OCD type, make sure you are conversant with the time tables for the signing, shipping, grading, slabbing and return shipping of books. Sometimes even fast track can take 30-45 days. As it relates to trust, get some references. The best facilitators will have dozens of raving fans who will extol their virtues. You can also do a search on this site to see some of their handiwork. As a guy that sent off 90 books on my 1st submission (and it had some significant hiccups along the way) I know what you are feeling. I did not do a lot of research. I just sent the books and $3300 bucks. For the most part it worked out great, but some of my suggestions are: (1) Do the highest grade books that you can. It may not seem like a big deal when you are in the infatuation stages of Signature Series. But resale has a huge factor that is related to the underlying grade and even if you consider yourself a collector for life, someone, someday, will have to sell them. (2) Don't hesitate on getting the guys that you really care about. None of us are promised tomorrow and that includes comic guys. (3) Make friends with other yellow label guys. Do favors and help out when you can. It's not a tight knit community the same it was 10 years ago, but there are great guys who will help you out if you reciprocate. Have fun and get ready for an exciting part of the hobby.
  10. Yep. I have a Hercules #11 from the old DC series that has a #1 label.
  11. That is waaaaaay nicer than 8.0/9.0 (whatever that is). Nothing will be taken off for the bleedthrough. The real issue is whether there is a small dust shadow on the right side or whether that is some kind of scanner artifact. Without the dust shadow, and factoring in the small dent at the top and the flaking at the URC, it could easily be in a 9.4 slab.
  12. Spawn 1 Then in my mind there was a "Chromium" era that went from 1992-to the Marvel 1998 Reboots. That's when the modern era starts for me.
