  1. I loved Mad but never read Groo. Does anyone know if there is a trade or omnibus which I could try in order to get into the character?
There's a dozen or more tpb's collecting four issues each of the Marvel series. Dark Horse published an Omnibus with stuff from Destroyer Duck #1, Starslayer #5, Pacific Comics's Groo #1-#8, Eclipse Comics's Groo the Wanderer Special #1, and Epic's The Groo Chronicles #1-#6. There's lots of collected works out there.

Thanks for your response. Any recommendation on a good introductory starting point?

  2. Mint, I have a Colecovision MIB (complete, working, all paperwork, original RF connector), a MIB Atari expansion module, a loose and fully working Colecovision console, a set of super action contollers with foam insert but no box, and about a dozen Colecovision games (including two Star Wars) and two Atari games (Pac Man ajd Space Invaders). What's a fair price on the bundle?

Do you have pics. Feel free to PM me.

What two Star Wars games? Boxes and manuals included?

Let me know. Happy to help appraise it for you!

    Respectfully yours,

    'mint'

PS: If you could list the Coleco games; it would help. Some (very few) can be rare.

The games/cartridges are all loose. I have some of the manuals for a handful of games, but not many. The games all work.

Here are some pics I took when I had it hooked-up to our projector (sorry, no idea what's happening with photobucket):

    Wow, this brings back memories.

Bought this system with money saved from my first job. (paper route).

Played for hours. Still have the system in the original box at my parents' house.

Unfortunately no controllers. Not sure where those have gone.

Thanks for bringinging back an awesome memory.

    Cheers

  3. Andy, I saw these live when I visited your store. Fantastic. (thumbs u

Andy what is your store like? What town is it located in?

I've got a coin shop in London, Ontario. It smells of "old". I sell antiques, militaria, coins, stamps, paper money, comic books, gold and silver bullion, among a few others. Family business since 1964.

It's a pretty awesome store too, Andy!

I thought it was pretty cool also Andy (thumbs u

  4. What should it sell for?

The last blue label 9.6 on ebay sold for just under 6k. Based on the green label stigma maybe 5-6k. I have actually noticed an overall drop in TMNT 1 prices over the last year on the high grades like 9.2 and above. I think this will change in a year or so and the high grades will realize strong prices again. Mid and low grades are still selling for strong prices though.

I was following the last sale of the 9.6 as I was curious what it would sell for. It was an Ebay auction. I did not bid and I think there a number of boardies who would not have bid on a book from the seller of this book. I think that is one reason the final price was a bit lower.

IMHO I believe the Blue label should be a $7k book and the Green should go in the $4.5k range. Then again, I have been wrong plenty of times in the past. :makepoint:

  5. Danny,

Too be honest I did not watch it the last three hours cause I ASSumed it would go to $30,000 and out of my price range. So I closed my laptop and walked away cause I really wanted that book so I couldn't bare to watch it. When I opened it after auctions end, I thought it was a glitch and refreshed it.....three times when I put it together, I was so angry and upset I said things that would make a dirty pirate hooker blush. I have been upset at losing out on books before (quite a few, like anybody) but not mad like this one, since it was my own stupid doing.

I finally am cooled down and if I would have kept bidding over Sanj Mitra, than who knows I and the winner might have made it go over the $30,000. At least that is what I tell myself.

I f***ked up - plain and simple. The buyer is a lucky person imho, fantastic job and book - hats off.

Believe me, I am feeling just as torn as you. My bid was good until the last couple of minutes and I had the option to keep going and opted not to much as I wanted to. I also figured I would have had to drop a further $2-3k to have a shot to win which was not comfortable for me.

Just hope the winner is a boardie.

  6. Well, just got this puppy graded. Cover is as blue and bright as any fresh copy I have ever seen when held in hand. It just looks a little grey in the scan.
