  1. Yeah, this and I like Pence & Cents copies too
  2. Yeah, as soon as that new Captain Gallant TV series comes out, it'll be all gravy baby
  3. In England before the days of eBay and the internet, you couldn't be too choosy on what condition you bought, mostly buying out of catalogues and an occasional mart, if I saw a book I didn't have, I bought it. I later looked at sale adverts in the Newspapers and sometimes bought whole collections to get a few books if I needed them and the seller wouldn't split them, ended up with multiples of books. I did this a long time and then eBay came and I started to fill gaps and upgrade lower grade copies. I guess I just never really got around to selling anything apart from a few titles when I was skint in the 90s I gave away a lot of duplicates about 10 years ago to gain some much needed space as selling them just wasn't really an option due to time and effort involved, I don't really regret it but a lot of those give away books are a bit pricey now Yeah, I have been known to have a duplicate or two
  4. Looks great in the slab, presents better than the grade
  5. Thanks for posting Sha, my first time reading that book, I don't have any of the More Fun Superboys, its high on my wants list though, still working on the Adventures but getting there I also love it when peeps post stories but its sometimes a killer in a sales thread where they post a few pages and leave you hanging for the end of a story Maybe that's a sales strategy
  6. Yeah I don't think my missus would be too happy about that, she has her heart set on the auction at some point I think, whether or not that includes my involvement or not remains to be seen My big give away was about 10 years or so, I was desperate for space so I gave away all my worthless drek and a lot duplicate 1970s-2000s Marvel & DC runs, so many you wouldn't believe it, she wasn't happy then either, even though it was really her idea, she would be really mad if she knew that a lot of that worthless drek isnt drek anymore
  7. I don't want to stick anyone with a headache as no one in my life has any interest in comics at all and I fear some big dealer taking my missus to the cleaners. Recently a local auction house sold a fairly large collection after the owner died and left it to his sister, knowing nothing about comics, she put the whole lot to auction and did very well. My collection is a lot bigger and broader than that one but I do think it maybe an option for the future, I just don't think I can bring myself to do it yet.... or ever. I would like to downsize to a nice little cottage in the country but I don't think that can ever happen if I keep my collection. I would have loved to pass my collection on to someone who had passion for the hobby, but I guess it wasn't to be.
  8. Nah, I still dont think you win Imagine this book not selling for the 6 and having to be reduced further, oh for a time machine
