  1. I think it's what the buyer is willing to tolerate, much like anything else. Many have a particular book they are willing to buy. Especially for a high ticket item as AF15. When I look at a SA book specifically, it has ALWAYS been this: 1. No ink/stains/smudges/Initials/Names on cover (I do love those old school splash panel artist sigs though!) 2. No MC 3. No mis-wrap. No date stamp (unless on the BC) 4. No front or back staples (depending on book). Of course, there are other things to consider based on the particular SA book you're looking for (X1, TOS39, etc.) and I won't even get into that here. Just know, these books are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them.....albeit, for the adjusted price in said grade.
  2. Wow! That sure is one beautiful 7.0! Woulda been a great candidate for my upgrade.
  3. I prefer the vintage sigs to be on the interior splash myself. Cool book with bright colors though.
  4. #1: Obviously, #4: 1st Brotherhood of EM, #12: 1st Juggernaut AND Origin of Prof X, #14: 1st Sentinels, #35: Along Came a SPIDER.
  5. I'm all for AV 4. One of the most iconic SA covers out there. Of course, the entire Avengers team is comprised of members who have appeared many times over in other books. BUT, this is the 1st SA appearance of Cap (Steve Rogers)! So, more toward a 1st appearance of a major character than issue #1 in my book.
  6. I think much has to do with not many being offered up during the buying "frenzy" that started back in March '17. Not gonna get too into it, but looks like the 6 and 6.5s were a bit late to the party, so to speak. So, now that the market has "cooled" a bit, you are seeing lower price points for them in that range. There seems to be quite a few copies up for bid nowadays, but still, very few with no or very little MC. I believe you'll see a definite POP come May/June next year and it should become the new norm. Guessing 65-70k for a 6.0 and 75-80k for a 6.5 wouldn't be too far of a stretch albeit, nice looking no MC copies. IMO
  7. I've always wondered if and when those books were going to be sold. Oh, and who was so lucky to own that many copies!
  8. Hands off! That one will be added to Spiderturtle's hoard.....er, I mean, stack!
  9. Clean covers only for this guy. However, I do LOVE a nice signature/and or date on the splash page or first page.
  10. Isn't that the 5.0 that went for 57k on CC back in March?
  11. Like 90sChild has said, JIM83 was brought upon by borrowed mythology, and not an original character at all. Someday the light will fade because of that in and of itself, regardless of movie hype.
  12. Now THAT is something I would have loved to own! Love me some of the splash and first page "in pen" autographs from the 70s and 80s. Wish I had seen it for the opportunity. That Double Quote 8.0 would have also been great.
  13. Very nice 5.5 you have there! I would love to pay that price today!
  14. To speak of AF15 in like terms of stock investing is completely ludicrous! There is a finite number of truly investment grade Blue labeled books that is diminutive compared to the millions of shares of any one stock. Although AF15 is quite a "liquid" book, you can't just "dump" it like you can stocks if prices look to be taking a downward turn.
  15. I would NEVER have any sigs on the cover of any SA key. What I DO find cool are those books signed back in the 70s and 80s where CGC denotes "Stan Lee 1986 singed on inside splash Panel". Or from the great Jack "King" Kirby. Those I find to be truly coveted, since the signatures are authentic and from that time before SS started splashing Sharpie all over the covers of those beautiful books. Just my
