  1. When I heard this was gonna be a TV series, I immediately wondered how much of the backstory we were gonna get first. I mean, it's currently unraveling as we speak. People don't want to enter a story at the end. Once, I read it was gonna be pretty faithful to the WTL series, I wondered where they were gonna go with one villian a week, with the events prior to this story a mystery. Mysteries really don't play well week to week on the boob tube. What Joe did with the storytelling in the comic format was amazing, but I really don't think it can be almost carbon copy replicated for other media. Where as Head Games can go for six issues, I don't think it could go an entire season. Three episodes tops. I guess the Omega arc only takes place within one night even. I just don't see these things in anything other than a movie or two. If they want to expand with future generations of Lockes intertwining with past ones fo has damned this r more vehicles, I would be game. But, as much as Dodge is one of the best comic villians of all-time, he/she could not carry the series alone. I saw this project doomed since get go, unless serious changes were made. Meaning more characters and story padding. Fans of the series knows this series is too self contained for 22 episodes a year for 5 years. We, will know the ending by next year even for the current generation of Lockes. The only way this series would have worked was for it to have hopscotched through the past and present, like the Highlander series, without giving away too many secrets to the loyal floppy readers. ...Now an almost three hour movie would have been wayyyyy more logical. Now don't be mad, but we have to admit WTL, would be Act One, HG would be a great start to Act Two with COS as some mid-movie mayhem, jettison alot of KTTK... you get the idea with Omega being the climax. It would be great incentive for Joe to continue the Locke's journey, if it played well. But, that is not the case here. Now. The loser dust on this Hollywood property through poor management has damned this title probably forever.
  2. The more and more I think about it, I cannot see L&K as a thriving TV show without being redundant. How many times can the Locke kids outwit Dodge in different garb within the same time setting? I could see this going for a season, like Heroes and like Heroes after Season One it will spin it's wheels. They can't make it drag either or the audience would turn the channel. They would have to pad the heck out of this show, with new elements I figure. But, it runs the risk of being flamed by the fanboys then. I still only see this as a movie trilogy or a really great first movie.
  3. I see L&K: Clockworks #1 was delayed up here in New England. Anyone out there get any?
  4. I was talking about bad Sy-Fy movies this morning on Facebook, and I remembered a bunch of terribly cheesy, yet entertaining ones growing up. The Ghost of Flight 401, Tarantula: Deadly Cargo, etc. But, the one that sticks out the most was Don't Go To Sleep. It was a very scary made for boob tube movie that might have planted the seeds for my Locke & Key love, 29 years ago. Like L&K, it's about a broken family, recovering from a loss family member at a haunted house. I don't know if it would hold up today, but the scared seven year old in me says it's highly recommended if you can find a bootleg copy. (thumbs u The main details. The comments. It makes me wonder if L&K would have had a similar kind of legend, if they air the pilot for down the road.
  5. Granted, I didn't like the first few episodes at first either, but once they started having the supporting cast have their own Echo(Eliza Dushku)-less adventures, the show started to gear up. I'm not knocking Eliza Dushku as an actress either, she is a very generous lead actor in a show with a heavy cast(Tru Calling another one) giving somewhat unknowns enough time for their characters, like Sarah Michelle Geller was in Buffy. A real classy dame to check a diva ego at the door for the craft. I wish, she would do more. I was gonna watch Inception tonight. Might watch Wrong Turn instead.
  6. I was just pointing out they gave us yet another annoying John Connor, not the resourceful Resistance leader they hype. I don't mind this story was about him becoming that! I would have loved to see where they went with the entire in the future story line ... Shame no one ever continued it in the comics though it wouldn't be the same as the tv shows ...I'd still read it Jetpack's eBay site. Great looking book from good people. Wow-great looking book! A signature in gold sharpie would look great on that book! (thumbs u Yup I wonder where I can get a raw 9.8 from ... Andrew is the guy most likely. (thumbs u Who is that again? forum name? GACollectibles. He did your SS L&K books recently and his grading on raws is top notch. (thumbs u
  7. I was just pointing out they gave us yet another annoying John Connor, not the resourceful Resistance leader they hype. I don't mind this story was about him becoming that! I was intrigued with his relationship with Cameron. That was about it. Yeah that was a good relationship I totally want to get her autograph at some point ... I wonder if I could do that through the forums some how ... I don't think she will ever be at ECCC for signing I also liked the weird little relationship they were doing with the other "good" terminators it was just so weird! Summer Glau was really allowed to rip on that one. She even got in a little of her real-life talent of ballet dancing in one episode. I was a fan of her character on Dollhouse too, where she was even more weirdly sexy than ever. She really needs to find a signature role. Too bad she's too old(not that I would kick her out of my igloo) to play X-23 now. She would have been perfect. If you ever get a chance, dowload both seasons of Dollhouse, another FOX show that was cut down needlessly.

  13. ...and writer Josh Friedman got his redemption at FOX after just about screwing up the Terminator mythology for all of eternity.
  14. Pilot review with production pics(the wellhouse, ghost Bode, etc). Enjoy! http://communityvoices.sites.post-gazette.com/index.php/arts-entertainment-living/tuned-in-journal/29060-failed-pilot-review-locke-a-key
  15. OK. Still looking bad. http://www.buzzfocus.com/2011/06/16/locke-and-key-shelved-josh-friedman-fox/
  16. I agree. But, this has been happening since 2008 with the failed Disney deal(Dimension Pictures). You get used to it after a while. All I was looking foward to was another perspective on it to enjoy it more. Dismantling could mean assembling it in Vancouver where it's cheaper to film too, if another network scoops it up. I just try to keep my hopes up anyway. :devil:I've love to be able to crash the set I would love to play Brinker Martin in a bit role. Is that his name?

  19. Time to Doug's "Offical Disscussion Thread" on the The Walking Dead TV show now entering Season 2. What's the rumors? Whose gonna be in it, characters and actors?
  20. New TWD variant alert! In the new issue, Carl will awaken to save Rick from a newly zombified Douglas just rampaging in his room, by grabbing Rick's sidearm and returning the favor by shooting his eye out.
  21. I think this is becoming more of a key thing to do with SS books for this title as Gabriel's loyalty and co-creator status is making it more of a "Lee Kirby" team effort then just Joe's book now. AND very hard to do since GR isn't as easily available as Joe for signings. Does anyone know if the duo will appear at SDCC this year? I don't know for sure, all I know Isreal is debuting a key there. It seems likely, even though they have had the wind knocked out of their sales because of the TV show. The book is still steaming along though.
