OK. Now, I don't consider previews, first appearances(like CGC). To me they are just advertisements. I hate seeing them in Registry Sets too. Would you say the original ads in Fallen Angel #22 or Cory Doctorow's Futuristic Tales of the Here and now: Craphound showing the Ghost Key and Keyhouse, their first appearances? Probably not. But, I have been hearing for the longest time how Doctor Who #1 was Locke & Key's first appearance. Considering it came out a week after Locke & Key #1, I wouldn't call it a preview or first appearance, myself. I also have been seeing on eBay, Speed Racer: Chronicles of the Racer #1 being billed as the 1st appearance too. But, that was the eleventh book(with too many variants) to have the preview in it, despite coming out(Feb.6th) before the February 20th release date of L&K #1. I have spent many months on the floors of regional LCS's researching what in fact was the true first preview. A preview that came out so fast, it had a spelling error in it(counselor). The true first preview... Corrected rather quickly... So, I ask(Cheryl and Annaka excluded), what was the truly first "special" Locke & Key preview?

The Skeleton Crew really knows it's stuff when it comes to this title. The lightweight structure of of the Anywhere Key was exactly how I imagined it when it popped out of Kinsey's bracelet. The Legacy Key was kick-azz too. Isreal even sent me a replacement bag for one that ripped. I really love these guys and also look foward to a complete set of keys down the road.

I got my keys from Isreal yesrerday. They were beyond awesome.

Trouble is IDW is mostly about the variants. But, with L&K they had some pretty great variants. But, save your money too. I'll start up a nice Easter egg hunt for the Locke & Key collectors in a week or so, with the release of my classified collecting files on this title( dating back to 2008), Salem wasn't even allowed in. It will send you all scattering, but in a good way(to your LCS).

The Keys To The Kingdom #4 Variant is a rare book to get. I like rare.... what makes it rare ?.. I see the black & white one on ebay for about $5 ....You "saw" one actually, Mike. This is the in-between period of these books, where no ones cares... but will. Mark my words. Find one on eBay now. I really didn't want to get into the variant area of L&K..but the king has spoken Any one got a nice copy for sale--shoot me a PM (thumbs u My CGC rejects are pretty nice. What grade are they ?.. 9.8 ? CGC grades IDW's on a curve lately. I'll refer you to my friend Cheryl on this too.

The Giant Key would be a fascinating one for sure. I had some PGX Platinum 10's of the Locke & Key books once. Needless to say my CGC 9.8's looked better in the holders.

Yup, these are the IDW people focused on weeding through the very best, hence the Signed Edition Head Games in SS CGC 10's. But, I think this will be the last CGC 10 #4 Head Games variant(I don't have GPA, so I can't check). I have two now anyway. The regular variant and "unofficial" printing error SDCC variant one.

Cheryl's right. They have too many books on their hands to keep up possibly. I've ran into this now and then. There is only one 1:10 cover to #4 and it is not a b/w sketch.

Thanks Isreal. I got your email. I just having been having a string of bad luck lately and I thought it got to the keys. Hopefully, they make it out of Jersey. I'm on dial-up for a week or more, so getting on your site is very hard, so I can't vote. But, I would definitely vote for the Mending Key out of the choices. Granted, I would love how to see how you develop the Animal Key too. I live for anything Locke & Key. I was betting you guys were gonna do the Gender Key next too.

If anyone wanted to know what was the basis for the Head Games #1 cover. We all know Dodge has a "devil" in him, but a panel in Head Games showed the mask he truly wears as Zack.

Welcome to the "Locke & Key Before They Were Stars!" Today's rising supporting players are Brinker Martin(who? ) and Jordan Gates. Most people think their first appearances were in Head Games #2, but did you know they showed up in one panel in Welcome To Lovecraft #3. Kinda out of continuity, considering they look like an item in this pic, but hated one another by Head Games #2. Hey Brinker, good luck on getting more panel time.

A neat little coincidence that caught my eye(well actually the the girl on the right of the cover, ). Upon closer inspection, I saw... Similar to the IDW logo with the lightbulb and eye with four rays coming out... ...and Ghost Key. All dating back to 1996.
