I couldn't believe something like that could happen with teenagers. Until it happened in the town next to me last year . It made Locke & Key #1 all the more chilling. My thoughts with a little spoiler. I know the first issue of the first book has been out for some time, but I don't want to ruin it for anyone else that hasn't read it.In the first issue, the oldest son completely lost himself in violence trying to protect his siblings/family and witnesses his mother's violence in trying to protect her family. What made it worse was that the two men/teenagers that attacked his parents were his friends and said the reason they did it was because he asked them too... in a manner of speaking.
The story struck a chord with me because I've been pretty violent in the past trying to protect my family and would do so again.
The supernatural element at the tail end of the story left me intrigued

Has anybody seen the production error on all the Locke & Key #4 variants from the 2009 SDCC Slipcase series?
A graded 2009 SDCC Slipcase series Head Games #4 variant.
It's has some ghosting from another image on the bottom of it.
The regular variant to #4(on bottom) does not have this though.
This is a tell tale sign of it being a SDCC Slipcase book. I have never owned a variant of a variant before, but I know this is a must own for any Locke & Key collector who wants one, from a hundred copy print run.

I agree with you Darabont did not "chicken out" of the big scene at the end, but to me as a writer it might have been shocking, but it also felt too rushed.Look aside, THE MIST gives us a good idea about how Darabont will tackle similar territory in TWD. Whatever its faults may be, Darabont did NOT chicken out. So I'm optimistic about TWD.They get into the car and drive a little bit and BLAM! I would have written it with more elapsed time days going by of hopelessly trying to find help, but only finding civilization obliterated before making that fateful decision in the car.
-
Yup, I believe this B/W version is on every copy of every format of The Mist.I didn't know the Mist DVD offered a b/w version of the film! You're talking about the remake with Thomas Jane, correct?I agree that TWD tv series will probably be in full color. I just can't wait for it to get on TV already! I hope they can use each tpb volume as a guideline for a full seasons worth of episodes, or something close to that equivalent. That would mean we would probably get over 10 seasons of TWD violence, social satire and more!
On another note, I hope that they let Rick keep his hand... and I don't want Tyreese to die!
Right EvilAsh ?

In all fairness, he posted that long drawn out speech with no point(we already knew most of the stuff anyway from obvious detective work) on Thursday night. But what is surprising, is that he dragged his feet on posting the back cover. Posting it on the last day, covering up the front cover now . This is going to bring in the high bids now for sure .Now, that he has posted the back cover, the lower spine corner really concerns me even more. Any other opinions?About time he added all those details, and isn't it interesting he IS the owner of both the 9.6 and the 9.8 like you said, Jerel.
Why wait the day of the auction to clarify all the confusion? Maybe because he saw all the potential high bidders not bidding now?

Yu cahn doo hit!!!
Thanks for the support, but sadly I decided to stop bidding.Wow! Mr. 9.8 is working his tail off to win that book.Go, Sam!

Well, I'm sure because Darabont did do The Mist that way on DVD, he'll want to do something similar for the fans too ....Back to The Walking Dead discussion, I remember reading back a ways, people said it would be cool if this series could be in B/W, like in the comic. I agree with everyone that said "that's not going to happen". It will most likely be presented in "full Technicolor" for the global market. But we as fans can do, is write in to AMC to have them add a B/W version on to the DVD(hopefully Blu Ray), like the Mist DVD did. If you have seen The Mist in B/W, it looks more creepy and sinister than the colorized version. When I read my TWD comics, I imagine color due to character moods and atmosphere, I think it would be cool if they could do this on the DVD too.I missed out on that convo...... so everyone thinks it's going to be in color?
If it'sin color, I hope it's that washed out look. The colors in the TV series shouldn't be nice bright colors as this is the end of the world we are talking about here.

Good point. I was a completist buying all the printings until that Larry's book came out. I think it's still the only book that I don't have.....
I have two
A 9.9 and a 9.8 SS.
Gav I love what you did with your Image Unite Cover
Thanks Adonis
It's not actually for me but for EvilAsh. I have a few more commissions to do on blank covers, I recently got back into art after 16 years out to do a sketch for the back of Junkenstein's book and am enjoying it again like you wouldn't believe!

Thank you Kathryn, Chris and Gav(and TJ). I was just so mad at such an arrogant comment coming from a complete stranger. First we were talking about Walking Dead casting and next thing I know I'm stereotyped as a reckless nut who would injure people. You just don't call someone a Cheney without a , IMHO.
That makes me feel really welcome here. Thank you very much for your concerns, but I have other places to be, if complete strangers can pass extreme character judgements and compare me to dangerous people in society. I'm thinking you do not want me hear and if I stay, your unfair and offensive comments will continue.Jerel -I think I would have a great time hanging out at your house for a weekend.
i'm worried he'd cheney someone
You'd better not be going anywhere Jerel

Ciara's "Like A Boy" video sold me, myself. With her build, moves and being not all smiles.I like it! (thumbs uboth laila ali and ciara look the part, but laila's character in real life fits michonne's character best. though ciara's skin tone is way closer. can they act?

Anyone interested in a signed Crow 1 CGC 9.0?
-
I always had a thing for his "assistant" Jo.
I saw that one. The seller still hasn't answered my question yet about who played the third Doctor Who.Anyone interested in a signed Crow 1 CGC 9.0?Jon Pertwee, 1970-1974.
I mean....yeah, that seller should answer you.
Then, Leela came around in the Baker years.

What you as the Chew collectors have to realize is that out of estimated 15,000+ Chew #1 books in multiple printings(not counting WD #63), there are less than 1,000 completists to your title. They are not interested in the Larry's variant to buy them out, because they are not readily available everywhere.
It's the same with my title's Jetpack variant.
-
I agree with Andrew. As a New England collector, I have been around to these shops like Larry's, Double Midnight and Jetpack, quite few times. You would think they would sell out after 1,000, but they don't sell as well as you would think. These are exclusive books to Larry's only. The sad truth is Larry probably has 3-4 box fulls of these(out of the original 1K) still in a backroom or storage locker in Lowell still waiting for a home, despite Chew's popularity.I'm not knocking the Larry's Variant, but there's got to be more than 1000 of them.Based on what?
I am confidant that the print run is the advertised 1000 copies. I am involved in dealing with Larry's variants (started in 2009) and would not make that claim if I felt otherwise. If you want to question my word on it (which is absolutely your prerogative) and have information I should know about, I'm all ears.
I don't know about the Chew variant, but I DO believe there are more than the stated 1K Invincible 1 variants out there. There are a ton of them on ebay and used to be even more. Sorry, but if there was only 1K of these books, the majority would already be in private collections and not trading hands all the time.
I tend not to believe whatever numbers Larry's comics puts out there. I don't have any evidence (and who would besides Larry's and the printers), but from what I see, I believe his numbers to be bogus.
I had no involvement with any variants prior to 2009, however I will make this statement:
I will vouch for advertised prints runs of Larry's Comics variants that have been printed since 2009.
Please tell me what you see about the Chew book to indicate otherwise.
What you have to be worried about and I am sure Andrew can back me up on this is, with comic books with 1K print runs, usually the last 200+ are junky in quality. Meaning there are probably 750 books or less of these out there of high quality.

I might be wrong with 3rd Print numbers. Comichron didn't report a Chew 3rd Print for August, but had a Chew #1 in September. I just assumed it was the Third Print, because I barely remember someone reported the Final Bite Edition having a low print number.5/13 Walking Dead #61: 23,902 copies
6/3 Chew #1: 5,246 copies
7/1 Chew #1: 2nd Print: 3,685 copies
7/15 Walking Dead #63: 23,985 copies
8/5 Chew #1: Larry's Variant: 1,000 copies
8/5 Chew #1 3rd Print: 4,576 copies
9/2 Chew #1 Last Bite Issue: ?? copies
I hope this helps
I am a completist with my title's #1 issue too, so I'm taking your books very seriously .
So please dont "chew" me out if I am wrong.

But if you are going to start calling the Larry's Edition, the 3rd print, what are you going to call the WD/Chew flipbook?
What we really need is a breakdown on the release dates of each print.
5/13 Walking Dead #61: 23,902 copies
6/3 Chew #1: 5,246 copies
7/1 Chew #1: 2nd Print: 3,685 copies
7/15 Walking Dead #63: 23,985 copies
8/? Chew #1: Larry's Variant: 1,000 copies
8/5 Chew #1 3rd Print: 4,576 copies
9/2 Chew #1 Last Bite Issue: ?? copies
I hope this helps
