  1. I received a response from the seller.

    :ohnoez:

You get a restraining order too? :insane:

He sent a note stating he's been busy and couldn't respond to any emails since Sunday. I reminded him this is the second time he has listed the book.

So, at least he is responding to emails.

Agreed, might be able to get this book on the cheap. Probably with a little SCS and a cracked case, but cheap hm
  2. What am wondering is how they will handle deaths in the series. In the books you had some well established main characters die off (Rick's wife, Dale, etc..) and am wondering how quickly they will be in killing off a main character like that. Especially if the main character is played by a fairly well known actor/actress.
    Hello... Emmy Awards :acclaim:.

    ^^

It's actually a perfect scenario really. You get some known actor/actress to anchor your show and maybe they can get some attention and Emmy nods. Then they can be killed off, to do a 3 picture deal at a studio, because this comic has just about a 100% mortality rate. It's a win-win situation for a known or fading actor/actress who doesn't want to be stuck on cable.

We might get some good actors on this .

  3. From CBR RE: Walking Dead TV Show

Robert Kirkman's acclaimed zombie epic just took one more step towards a fully-fledged life on the small screen.

Variety is reporting that the AMC Network has greenlit a pilot for a "Walking Dead" TV series after reviewing the screenplay adaptation submitted by "Shawshank Redemption" director Frank Darabont. While the step does not ensure that fans will see a full show inspired by the Image Comics series hit the cable airwaves, the fact that a pilot will be committed to film for the channel known for high quality original programming such as "Mad Men" is a good sign for fans of the series.

Frank Darabont was attached to the Locke & Key pilot at HBO before this :(
  4. You wanna really make me laugh?

Somebody win that book for $100 and then the folks that were originally going to bid $1K can send kind notes letting the seller know why they just missed out on a tremendous sale.

What a sad person for not even bothering to respond.

Leave it to the seller to turn the whole auction into something worse than The Crow: Wicked Prayer :roflmao:.
  5. i only buy modern cover variants, anita blake only lol but kinda hard to find in person...online is too easy...i like the hunt
Have seen the Marvel Newsstand Price Variants of the Anita Blakes(and other titles) at Borders Books :cloud9:? Sometimes you can pick one up in NM+ condition the day they come out usually two or three weeks after the LCS release date. I've seen the Anitas in Concord, but I'm not sure about the Borders in Nashua or Salem, NH?
  6. Yeah Chris, I often feel the same way. #'s 1-3 have proven to be tough if not seemingly impossible. I do think that Nick is right and that there are a few more out there. Just the fact that two #1's in 9.8 have been added to the census this past year gives me hope that a few others may surface over the next couple years.
Yeah, I can't tell you how many fights we had when a "NM/M" #3 arrived in the mail from eBay and it was reader beater copy. We had separated when, I saw that CGC 9.4 #3 hit ebay, I hit the BIN to complete that phase of my life.

Now, I just pick in between my teeth with all the undercopies.

  7. The only liberty I would take with the AMC series if I was it's screenwriter I never discussed on The Walking Dead boards, was I think it's pilot should focus more on the character universe Kirkman created and how they moved around in society and around each other before the zombie outbreak turned civlization into chaos. It could be shot like a two hour Robert Altman TV movie with characters in the area almost connecting, but destined to cross paths down the line. I've been always worried about the TV series starting with Rick waking up in a hospital bed making viewers write it off as a 28 Days Later rip-off. Being a big Stephen King fan, The Walking Dead is the best Stephen King story that he never wrote. That's the best praise I can give. Most Stephen King stories are about the ragtag but interesting group of survivors in an apocalyptic or nightmarish surrounding and how they cope in that setting, but it's not about the creatures that stalk the main characters. Occasionally in most King stories and in The Walking Dead, they find out the bigger monster is who they see in a mirror.

  8. Here are the Crow comics I picked up last month. I didn't realize that I didn't have a scan of the #4, I will add one tonight when I get home. I enjoyed them and after reading them a second time I loved them. It really is a fantastic series.

I really enjoyed A Caliber Christmas myself, I'm glad it was part of your set.
