  1. So selling a comic to person A and then, when the comic (apparently) comes back in the mail, selling the comic to person B without telling person A, is ok? hm

    Well no, it's not.

After consideration though Jo Seph said he was out $30 (I assume the Paypal Fee).

That needs to be fixed or maybe the list might grow.

    :sumo:

  2. So i got a Fast Tracked on March 29th, when is a reasonable date i can expect it back being I paid for "fast" tracking?????

Oh god tell me it's moderns not value.

It is a 1970 bronze book. That makes a difference in them doing their job?

  3. Don't know what happened either way, but the refund has got to feel good :)

Oh it most certainly does :)

The dots don't connect but I'm really happy you've got your money back.

Wait. How did you get your refund?

I can confirm I got my refund via PayPal. Thanks again for that dillon, though it was a very frustrating ordeal.

But didn't Jo Seph pay via Western Union?

    I thought the same thing.

Which means Jo Seph's "refund" could be charged back depending how it was sent. I don't recall a PayPal refund option when the initial payment was not Paypal.

If it was sent personal it couldn't be charged back right?

  4. Im grateful for Dillon for the refund but his story does not make sense.

    1) bluehawaii buys the book from longdillon 3 weeks ago after the book apparently is sent back for non-delivery.

    2) I receive a message from dillon on the 22nd of April, to give it a few more days to see if the book arrives.

I was never informed that the book was shipped back to him until today when he sent the refund.

It all seems a bit iffy to me but I'm glad its over.

So his message on 4/22 telling you to see if the book arrives was a lie of omission being that BlueHawaii posted a message saying he bought the same book from dillon on 4/8?

    That's what smells.

He should have been honest and told Jo Seph that the book had been mailed back because of some kind of error and upfront that there might be a delay in a refund until he could sell the book to someone else.

  5. Don't know what happened either way, but the refund has got to feel good :)

    I might have a guess.

Seller sells book needs cash now (bills/taxes/whatever).

Pays bills/taxes/whatever right away while mails the book to Australia.

Weeks later book comes back while buyer emails him wondering wth my book dude?

Seller panics because he can't refund since the money is spent and is afraid to try to mail it again overseas.

Sells book to guy from USA because this time book won't get lost.

Was planing to refund first buyer once he got the deal done with new buyer but everything blows up here before he can tie up lose ends.

Plausible enough, but the second buyer paid (I think) April 11? If there was a good faith intention to refund the first buyer its taken awhile, no? But of course if there was a good faith intention anywhere in this transaction the first buyer would have been informed the moment the book was returned undelivered, yes?

That's the one thing only the seller knows, if he had a good faith intention to refund the original buyer or if he was going to "double dip".

  7. In reguards to me being a scammer, not the case. The book was delivered back to me from austrailia to joseph. I didn't want to reship the book and then sold the book to bluehawaii. Of which has received the book and Joseph has been refunded through paypal. Big misunderstanding. As far as having a paypal account that was my ex fiancés. I am in no way a scam artist, just a fellow comic collector who has had a few misfortunes myself.

thanks anyone who wants to pm me is more than welcome too.

This doesn't make a lot of sense. You sold a book to someone, it's your responsibliity to get that book to the person, not decide to sell it to someone else. Once Jo Seph paid for it, it's HIS book, not yours, it was not your decision to make to sell it to someone else.

In addition, it doesn't seem that you ever mentioned any of this to Jo Seph.

Did the guy down-under (Jo Seph) get his refund?

Did the other guy (Bleuhawaii) get the JIM 83?

    Can we confirm this?

Then maybe you won't go to HOS.

  8. All kudos threads are positive.

Could be classic eBay type comic scammer.

    Sell $20-$50 comics/collectibles.

Build up 10-20 positive feedback (nothing to lose).

Then unleash the $1000 book and sell it to 2, 3, or 4 people and walk away with the evil smile on your face.

  9. An update on the JIM 83 saga.

The last message I got from Dillon was on the 22nd of April.

Give it a few more days, Ill initiate a paypoal funds transfer and if nothing Ill issue you a refund via paypal. Ill check at the post office tomorrow and see what I can find out.

Still no sign of the book and my messages since the 22nd are still unread.

Evidently he sold me the same JIM 83 two weeks ago. Paid via Paypal. No word since.

    :o

    Sounds like another HOSer!

  10. Modern FT received 4/23. They havent even looked at them yet and once again "great" customer service. She sounded like I was bothering her and again had the "deal with it" attitude.

Let me guess - you were just as "friendly" over the phone as you were in this post, right?

Btw, tone/mood cannot be interpreted over text, at least not without exclamation points or caps lock. Therefore your comment is ridiculous as it is impossible for you to interpret my "written voice" but thanks for playing.

right on Stanley1883, Msschmidt sounds dooshy in protecting CGC even though you paid for a service and did receive it....

Imagine if companies like McDonalds, or Starbucks, or Movie Theatres pulled this...

we would not be backing them,,,,

    I want fast food.

    I don't want fast grading.

  11. Let me ask you guys this. Let's say you pay an up charge to fly first class with no layovers. Come the day of the flight, the airline decides to stick you in coach and you have 2 layovers in other cities. They don't give you a refund. You would be kinda mad right?

They are doing the same thing to us. Just saying.

Wonder if anyone ever filed a BBB report.

I'd hate to see their grades on the next submission.

  12. :o

$1150 check or money order. Once it clears, I ship immediately.

    $1250 PayPal.

    :o

I get the 3% extra for paypal... but that would be 1150 vs $1185... am I wrong that Paypal takes 3%?

Is there some condition where they charge closer to to 10%?

Well it could be he's giving an extra big discount for cash buyers because he really hates Paypal or at least fears the 1099.
