  1. Kudos back to Nikos for selling more of his castoffs in his forum auctions. I almost got a finger cut from the edges of that Kull #2 NM-.
  2. Kudos to jduran for a nice Miller Daredevil slab...Good Stuff. Thanks
  3. Kudos to Divad for the nice Avengers #14. Another tomato boxer finds a nice home in a box between his buddies #13 and #15.
  4. Kudos back to Johnny G for the Epic Illustrateds. He called them NM and they are NM. My magazine box thanks you.
  5. Any Newcomers left too share their ebay handle? Or maybe any golden oldies ready to come out of the closet? No Greggy jokes please/
  6. After a 10 year hiatus of collecting I thought it was time to sell off some books. Checked ebay and started seeing all these weird CGC books selling for crazy money. I did a websearch for CGC and found the CGC site...clicked every link on the front page and finally found the boards and just started reading. A couple of years later and now I probably have bought more comics than I've sold, thanks guys (and a couple of gals). It's hard NOT to get caught up in the passion for the hobby found on the boards. There are enought gems found on the boards to make it worth it to wade through the rest of the that you'll encounter.
  7. Kudos to October for a couple of sweet 20 centers. I look forward to passing on some nice scores in next year's raw sales grading rankings. The marketplace is a nice place for those holiday buys...buys for yourself that is
  8. Postponed Kudos to Solar for the Bone comics he bought. Books got lost in a mail mix-up for over a month...but they finally got there this weekend. Brett showed much patience throughout the wait. A top-notch guy. Thanks.
  9. Good week for me. Got a Savage Tales #1 in VF-ish(flake lower left corner) condition for less than $100(guess the Man-Thing hype is now officially over). I'd been waiting for a year for the price of this book to cool down. Also got in a couple of really nice high grade Tales of Suspense.
  10. Kudos right back at ya rhino....I'll take your marvel pre-hero rejects any day.
  11. Congratulations Ian, glad to hear that you completed your quest. Now we all look forward to that photo you mentioned. Throw in a few obscure DCs alomg with the keys for that extra gee-whiz factor.
  12. Kudos to Rube11 for a nice slabbed Strange Tales #164. But thanks even more so for the excellent packaging. I dropped the box within 10 seconds of picking it up(cast on broken wrist) and it took a 4 foot tumble to the ground. Opened it up and no shaken comic syndrome or cracks on the slab...just alot of wonderful packing peanuts. Thanks.
  13. boards = Ebay blutobc = blutobc current S.A. & B.A. stuff including a few DC 100 pagers blutobc
  14. "Now there is a book that brings back memories, I almost completely forgot about that book. Where did you pick that book up?" Ebay - warehouseauctioncenters I don't mind sharing because they are bulk listers of CGC books(lots of modern & copper & a fair number of bronze). They usually list so many books at one time that a few will always sneak through at nice prices. This was my 3rd purchase from them, and all have been good transactions.
  15. A mixed bag of nuts for me recently...but they all do fill holes in my want list. Reacquired this beauty to replace the raw copy I sold years ago. What's not to like about Not Brand? Picked up these two books advertised as VF+ & VF/NM...I'd swap the grades around, but they still do a good job of filling holes in the runs. Also found a new comic store that had nothing but copper/moderns that had seen better days. Cherry picked the best Uncanny X-Men he had - #141 & #142 in VF+ condition....Which was great until I got home and found out that it was #139 & #140 that I was missing.
  16. Thanks, Red I especially enjoyed reading the speculations of how the pre-hero monsters could possibly tie into later superhero continuity. Fun Stuff.
  17. This week's pickup: Ebay - Strange Tales #126 - VF Journey into Mystery #59 - F- LCS - Daredeveil #159 - VF Mystery in Space #112 - NM - completes my Copper Run House of Secrets #113 - VF I've got a scan of the JIM #59 posted in the Pre-hero Marvels in the Silver Age section. It's a hoot. Check it out and also see some other the other really nice books posted there.
  18. Okay, I picked this book up just for the cover image and Blurbs..... "I Unleashed SHAGG Upon the World" - I mean who wouldn't want to take the credit for unleashing shagg "Why do They Keep Trying to Resist Shagg?" "All Mankind is Helpless Before Shagg" - Truer words could not be spoken What with the 60s beatles type mop-top on the monster and the book's date - 1960...could this really be the start of the semi-popular phrase....when did the phrase become common usage? And sadly the Kirby monster actually in the Shagg story is a Sphinx Creature and not the Austin Powers wannabe shown on the cover.
  19. Recently picked up a really nice copy to share with everyone. This book has got great cover gloss and some sweet colors too.
  20. Went on a small horror binge this past week. I didn't set out to do it this way...but turned out I picked up an early silver age, a nice bronze, and a quality copper book all in one week. I guess I'm an equal opportunity kind of guy. I've only got the Strange Tales in hand. The other 2 are the scans from the auctions. Strange Tales #99 - VF/VF+ House of Mystery #219 - CGC 9.2 OWW Saga of the Swamp Thing #23 - CGC 9.6 White
  21. They look like Reba and Garth Brooks to me....and I'm not even a Country Music fan.
  22. Once again a listing of this week's purchases that show me that I'm not doing a good job of sticking to my want list. Uncanny X-Men 115 - NM Airboy Comics - V7 #12 - VG/F Strange Tales 152 - VF Conan #33 - CGC 9.4 Supes Pal Jimmy Olsen 97 - G - another cheezy J.Olsen book. He's my guilty pleasure. Only the xmen and strange tales were on my want list....the rest were impluse buys.
  23. Tower of Shadows #6 & #8 Conan Vol. 1 - #5 Unexpected #135 Tales of Supense #94 Identity Crisis #1-#7 A mixed bag of nuts. TOS is 9.2/9.4 - Tower is 9.2 the rest are in F to VF cond. & I'm probably one of the last people to read IC...picked the set up for cover price.
  24. Thanks to helionaut for finding me that elusive issue #2 modern book. Much appreciated.
  25. Hello, to all the GA'ers out there!!! I'm usually just a SA/BA guy. But got a chance to pick up a nice GA book this past week and thought I'd share it with you guys. Let's go Whizzing....with all of the Sivanas too boot!!!
