  1. Informing the buyers about delays would also be helpful. :juggle:

:applause: When I had a 5 day(2 weeks of illness total) all inclusive stay at the hospital I made sure one of the things I did before being admitted was inform the few boardies that were expecting books from me. All were understanding. Communication is key.

Not that Jason needs any accolades from me or anyone else, but I can confirm what he says. I was one of those people expecting books from him and he PM'd me saying he was ill and would probably spend a couple of days at the hospital. When he recovered, he PM'd me again and we finished the deal. (thumbs u

And guess what? Both of his emails started with a polite apology and he clearly explained the reason for the delay. (A delay which, to be honest, was not much of one to begin with - we're only talking about a couple of days, here!)

And that's what it's all about: communication and common courtesy! Cap_Freak's behavior was totally unacceptable and completely unprofessional. Personally, I wouldn't buy a single thing from him, even if he gets out of the probation list :sumo:

  2. There's been a few times I have seen a book I would like (but couldn't afford straight off) posted for sale by a board member I have had little/nothing to do with yet. I've posted a little message or a complimentary graemlin and sometimes the user PMs you with a 'we can work something out' message.

So you get the book on time payments and make some good friends in the process. Can't see anything wrong with it myself. It's not derailing as it's on topic. If people only want :takeit: posted as replies in their threads and nothing else then post it in the disclaimer at the start of the thread.

    My thoughts exactly! (thumbs u

  3. FYI only... maybe I'll bring them back for the next VCC. hm

(I actually have more copies of #33 and #34.)

How on earth did I miss those in the last VCCs? :frustrated:

I need 6 issues to complete the run (#34 being one of them).

  4. In reading through this interesting post, which 90's mass-produced copper do you think shows up most in the average collection?

    1) Spawn #1 - I'm covered as I have doubles of 1-13 because I always had hope the character would come around again, and enjoyed these foundation issues.

    2) Spider-Man #1 - no matter the different covers. I still keep my Platinum tucked away.

    3) X-Men #1 - any of the many covers.

    4) X-Force #1.

I'd vote Spawn, but there are plenty of McFarlane Spidey fans holding onto their Green, Silver, Gold copies for dear life.

If you're talking about "real" collections, I'd say X-Men #1 is probably the worst offender.

But if you're talking about the kind of "one longbox for 10 bucks collection" that eBay is filled with, I'd put Turok #1, Rai And The Future Force #9 and Magnus #21 far above the ones your mention. With these books, it's not only that they were produced in huge quantities, but that they also had much smaller sell-through (most copies stayed at the retailers back rooms). Heck, even the copies that were bought by fans were mostly discarded in the next couple of years.

Oh, by the way, I have about 8-10 copies of Spawn #1, so I guess I can join the club too. :acclaim:

(If someone starts a Turok #1 club, I'm going for a board position :sumo: )

  5. Kudos to Transplant for some cheapie-cheap moderns that will fill holes in my collection and a couple of sweet hardcover graphic novels from the early 90's in like-new condition. (worship)

Kudos to Count for a nice box of modern goodies. And even bigger kudos for hosting one of the coolest sales threads ever! (thumbs u
