  1. But impossible to search on due to the minimum 4 characters in a search. I know it is more difficult to type but just call me Googa. Then I can search on it and see who is talking about me! You should change your board name to POOV then YOU should change your board name to Bio-Rupp! PS - don;t think I didn't see what you put originally! Actually POV... I didn't put that. Nick changed that. Just so you know.

  4. Hi Jaybuck The poll was closed when I first saw it so I only had date stamps to go by. It was posted 7/6 12:10AM EST and your remark that is will be closed 7/8 12:10AM EST, so it looked like a 2 day poll. Anywayz, no, there is no 24 Hours Poll rule for HOS. We leave it up for a few days at least to give everyone a chance to review etc. Especially on a holiday weekend when many folks are away or not on the boards as much. You can read the full set of rules here about the PL and HOS. http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4949997#Post4949997 We may have to put Greatgoogamooga on the Probation List for his continual changing of his board name. I miss POV ... much easier to type
  5. For the time that you have made me wait to get this resolved I will take a full refund if you let me keep the books the way you did with your previous issue. I won't risk sending them back and going through being ignored waiting for a refund. It's not worth that hassle. Amazing that people on the boards still want you to sell..having two major issues selling in the past few months should raise red flags for everyone You shouldn't expect to keep the books if he gives you a full refund. Do the honorable thing and send them back (but if and only if he gives you the full refund). And we don't all "want to see him sell". If he makes things right with you he should have the opportunity to hang himself again. I myself wouldn't dream of buying from this guy. +1 And possibly this whole situation will help ZBiz tighten his grading and become a better grader and seller.
  6. David is one of the most pleasant people to deal with on these here boards. Anytime you need anything sir... don't hesitate to ask xxx ooo Rupp
  7. Eddie sold me the sweetest X-men # 94 that was packed safely in pounds of foam peanuts and an extra bubble mailer inside the box for good measure. The book got here almost as quick as I paid for it too. Can't wait to throw more of my money at you Ed ! xxx ooo Rupp
  8. I wasn't in the market for anything you were selling. My thoughts are that most of the forum members are either buying to flip the hot book or looking for dirt cheap pricing. Your hot books sold (apocalypse/archangel). Copper & modern X-Men related books are an extremely hard sell at any price as everybody has them. Images were on the small side &I thought your grading was a little optimistic, or possibly just based on the front covers. I noticed a lot of damage on the back covers that would drop some of the books from 9.0-9.4 down to 7.5-8.0. Good luck with the next sale. I have to agree when it comes to the X-Men books. Everybody has them, and if they aren't 9.6 and up, people only want to buy them dirt cheap. Quite a few books in your thread were books that I was able to purchase on the boards for a dollar or less over the last two years. And in most of these purchases, the books were in higher grades than yours were. If the books aren't hot at the moment you're trying to sell and they aren't ultra high grade, most likely they'll be hard sells. Not just one... but two knives to the eyes Dang guys go easy on ole slym... he's a sweet guy
  9. Don't worry about it slym ... if someone has ever had a problem with one of your sales on these boards, rest assured it will come back up at the perfect moment
  10. Just noticed this Boscoe is too kind In all honesty, one of his DVD's had a bad skip that played fine on my player. I of course made the transaction whole and Nick happy... but I felt bad about it Just want to reiterate, if you ever get a bad disc or anything from me and it takes you a while to notice (not years mind you, but a reasonable amount of time )... just pop me a PM and I will always make it right. xxx ooo Rupp
  11. Chuck Grower They call him Chuck for a reason...
  12. Ok, I can understand that. When I have a sales thread, I often do price reductions to promote quick sale of books and quick payments - which is why I stipulate the 3 day rule in my overall thread specifications. I don't mind even waiting for payment, but I also stipulate if that is the case, the buyer work it out with me ahead of time. And the reason for that is that I don't want to mark something down and wait 1-2 weeks for payment - because I could take those 1-2 weeks and attempt to sell it for regular price and get my full amount. Like I told Sharon - I don't think the guy has to be nailed to a cross over a $40 sale - especially since no one is out anything other than time and inconvenience, but I was curious to what reprecussion there is (if any) to not following through on a sales thread and if there was some middle road between three days and 30 days. I don't think I'll come back 30 days from now and nominate him to the PL because I'll just move on with life and give him ONE STAR on my personal star ratings list. Hey Dr. B, If the offer still stands at the Gauntlet 1-6 and Guardians #24 for $40 shipped I would Sure - let's do it. I'll PM you. Balls makin' sweet BANK ! There's no sweeter sale than one made in the PL thread. Just curious, has one like this ever been made in the PL? Believe it or not... I think I bought my Hero For Hire #1's from Chuck Gower here on the PL from a deal gone bad for him ... pretty sure.

  14. This is indeed disturbing. May be too early to call it a trend, but I've noticed an increasing number of raw listings where a seller seems to be asking more than the value of a book in its current grade because of pressing potential (for example, a seller might list a book as a 7.0 and point out that it could probably press higher, and then post a BIN price as if it's a 7.5'ish). If you think about human nature, this would almost have been a predictable consequence of the introduction of pressing into the marketplace - it's a shame - I really hope that the majority of us comic collectors resist this nonsense so that it doesn't become the norm... Not the first time this has happened. Been going on here for years
  15. Its a shame that AC can't stay on top of this better. He is talented, lightbox or not. I hope he makes everyone whole with what he owes. Best thing to do conditionfreak is take this over to the PL Discussion thread and put forth your case there. Someone has already humped your button on your first post and this thread will be locked soon. Forget posting here... and start your case over there.
  16. Don't worry about it Chip. In the big scheme of things it doesn't reaaaaaly matter... especially since it was a general question about selling comics in general
  17. What does that have to do with restoration? Absolutely nothing. In the preceding posts, it was stated: "I would like to think that ANY purchase that one makes here on the boards would be be backed with a 100% return policy." Related to restoration, I agree with this statement, but 'ANY purchase for 100% return?', less so maybe I took it out of context, maybe not. I actually would take a return on a book in a scenario like this. That's what "for any reason" means. A happy customer is way more important than any one sale of a slabbed Sixth Gun. :winnah: Double ! Bedrock knows... which is probably one of the reasons he is still in business a billion years later. Sure... state a return time frame if you want. Especially if you're worried about hot books turning cold and buyer remorse... I'm sure that happens. Concerning unknown restoration. If someone buys a book off of you and you sell it as unrestored... and it comes back purple (no matter how many months it takes for CGC to catch up and grade the thing)... I still feel the seller is still 100% responsible to make it right with the buyer. Best thing to do is just ask... "what can I do to make this right with you". Just those few simple words will let the buyer know immediately that you weren't out to screw them in the first place... and that mistakes happen. Accidents and mistakes happen, and since it's your product (you sold it) ... then ultimately its you that has to make it right. How you would do it is up to you. How "I" would do it would be a full refund for the book and maybe in some instances, even his fees to have it graded. Goodwill & return biz... that's what should really be what you hope to gain from any transaction. No matter how well you appease the buyer, still factor in the fact that he is going to tell 10 of his buddies about the whole scenario. It's really up to you as to what he's going to tell them about your service. It's right here where not offering a 100% return on your defective product is going to monetarily hurt you in the long run.
  18. In that situation... all their feedback needs to be this: Red check meaning sale completed, but I wasn't happy.
  19. Selling raw books is a risk. If one is unwilling to take responsibility for one's wares then perhaps one should not be selling online. Frankly, I'm surprised there are people willing to argue the other side of this point. I myself circumvent these scenarios by trying to only buy and sell slabbed books. You are not a restoration expert. Neither am I. But that's not really a good reason for sticking an unsuspecting buyer with a restored book. It's a decent position to take, and if someone really did come to me saying something I sold them came back restored, I'm sure I'd work something out with them. But I don't think your take is 100%. For one thing, I reject the notion that we need CGC to save us from restored comics. The grading's great, the resto check is great, they do a good job, all that stuff, but ideas like this just leave a bad taste in my mouth. And second, most comics have been sold many times. There's a long chain of possession, and who knows when the resto happened? It seems 100% unrealistic that we could follow that chain of ownership, getting refunds at every point along the way. So, given that this isn't going to happen, that just leaves the second to last owner holding the bag. Speaking objectively, why is it my fault that the comic is restored any more than it's the fault of the guy who bought it from me? And if it's not my fault, neither is it the fault of the guy I bought it from, unless he's the nefarious restorer. You may say that I took the risk when I bought a non non-CGC comic, so I should "man up" ... but is that not equally true of the person who bought it from me? I would like to think that ANY purchase that one makes here on the boards would be be backed with a 100% return policy. Simply because if "I'm" the one selling it, no matter who owned it before, its my responsibility to back up what "I" sell... ultimately being "my" fault for undetected restoration. Its your choice in telling the customer to "man up" and take the hit... but do you really want that customer standing in front of your booth, in the middle of other potential customers, complaining about a book he bought from you that came back in a purple slab? Probably best just to apologize, claim ignorance (which technically is true) and give the refund. It will look good too I don't have a booth for anyone to stand in front of. If I did, if I were in the business of selling comics for a living, then dealing with returned comics because of undetected resto would be one of the costs factored into my pricing. If anyone wants to stand in front of my next sales thread where I'm giving my comics away for the price of shipping and scream about undetected resto, they're welcome to do so. Just saying your reputation is worth more than any one sale. Reputation is what makes sales two through infinity... and beyond

  21. Claudio sent me a big lot of Italian comics and each and every one of them is super sweet! And they got to the states in less than 10 days too ! Well packed, bbubble wrapped for my protection, bagged and boarded, and sent with a lot of TLC. Yes... I plan on buying more... lots more xxx ooo Rupp
  22. This tape thing is bothersome, I recently snagged a early Bat book that was deslabed with the label noting a 3.0 grade restored with tape. Was thinking of having it reslabbed... but really don't want to now that the grade has been lowered by a recent paragraph from CGC. And yes I know that the grade is lowered anyway... I just don't want to pay to have someone tell me what I already know
  23. Looks like a mod and some folks looking to mess with Rupp's thread are going to town, deleting posts that just do not make sense. Scooby Doo #1 is offensive? Just noticed the Scooby's are back. But some of my other post's photo link's to photobucket have been disabled. Man they sure have made a mess. But that's ok... cause Scooby is back in good graces
  24. Make sure you read every one of them to ensure there is no porn inside. Or Scoobys
  25. Scooby Doo was just banned today sir So I take it as a no go on the above zines? Never hurts to try sir. I've been looking for a few of those btw 1982 - 1986 myself.
