  1. that red circle is one of my favorite 70's covers. I am in love with that vampire i finally found a NM, but its off center by a bit.
  2. great books bonds! That voodoo is great too, some of those ajax/farrell issues can be really hard to turn up. I haven't seen one of those for sale before.
  3. Charltons from 1973-1976 are the best. The artistic line up was great & the stories were pretty good too. I am consistently impressed with them!
  4. oooh! i love the devil cover, i don't have that one yet! nice! The newton cover you posted is one of the tougher issues of the run in any shape. Its got great newton art inside too!
  5. it blows my mind that PS#14 is not considered a swamp thing prototype. Its written by len wein, so it has as an equal amount of creator input as HOM195, and is just about as swampy as that one too.
  6. i like how the #13 is dramatized on the cover of ghosts #13. This copy is a vfnm, so i don't have a NM either.
  7. NICE! Man i love WNT#14. I need to find a nice copy of that one.....
  8. DC loved hurting dogs in their 70's books. I don't know why, but there are tons of examples. Here is one....
  9. one of my all time favorite covers! Long live Dominguez!
  10. not much! the weird thing is, they are hitting this age, where they just start looking better. Its odd, i would look at the books 5 years ago or so, and they were neat, i always collected them, so i liked them fine. But in the last 16 months or so they just start LOOKING better. Some indescribeable essence. I may come off sounding nutty, its hard to explain. Almost like they now have this patina that instantly makes them appear older & more interesting. Does anyone know what i am grasping at?
  11. Nice score on the ghosts #63! and the weird war #68! too sweet! Did you find a #66? How about HOS#151? i don't think this one has been posted yet
  12. 209 doesn't seem to be any tougher than the rest for me, i have had 3 at least VFNM of that one. 214 yes i had not had a copy better than VF on that since the late 80's. 217 does seem to be giving people trouble. At what point do we agree that they are all tough?
  13. Thats ok, i just gave the cliff notes version anyway!
  14. it was mentioned in "Seduction of the Innocent" the book that tried to tie juvenile delinquincy to comic book in the early 50's.
  15. oh, and i wanted to mention i love the purple claw issue. I have really had a thing for spider covers lately, and that one is cool!
  16. i love that bailey cover on the weird mysteries, its a soti book too, isn't it? What issue did you have previously? They are all great books, but i really like that crime book. Nice, clean, green cover, its a cool book!
  17. congrats on the 205! i bought a NM- from blazing bob a few months ago. Only one i had the oppty. to buy that nice. My best 236 is VF+ or VFNM as well.
  18. nice spine & edges on that 190, but the top & bottom right corners.....
  19. Unexpected 118 is tougher than most any other bronze DC above VF. I don't know why, but i can't even get a fine! Its one of those things i guess. I am glad to see you agree Rip about the 175 & 179! 205 is a killer, and 236 is as well. I'd add 233 for a true NM to the mix.
  20. my votes for hte other two would be #175 & 179 perhaps
