  1. Time Warp in Boulder does that for "hot" books. When the Torch death issue came out, it was one per customer. I went elsewhere and got a few more. Luckily, I live in a metro area and have the flexibility.
  2. Absolutely a yes vote. RMA the H3LL out of us!
  3. I feel the same way, if I'm ever going to spend the money on it, I would want the cover to be Flawless! Such a great looking cover. They are plentiful in high grade. I have an 8.5 that is one of the favorite books in my collection.
  4. Sandman #8. Its the first Sandman I ever read - I had just started reading comics and had read Watchmen, DKR, Batman: Year One, The Killing Joke and some Miller DD by that point. I read Sandman 8 and just thought - that is poetry. Words and pictures combining in a totally new way to my mind. A close second is Swamp Thing 21, The Anatomy Lesson.
  5. Allow me to be the 4,000th person to say; why are there two threads for this show? This show rocks. My favorite so far was last weeks wherein Daryl has his talks with his brother. Its just what it should be - people in extreme situations reacting in unpredictable ways. Good times.
  6. Congrats, I've been wanting to join this club for a long time and I almost went all out on that book. Instead I settled for Jon's Monster Crime. Did any non-boardies win my books? Thanks guys, glad these two found good homes. This is like the scene in Rounders where someone asks why they all drive out to AC when they could have just stayed home to take each others' money Nice pickup and welcome to the club! Thanks All - its good to belong. I have it right beside my MM 15. These two just go together.
  7. I finally got mine! She's a beater, but she's mine. Bought through eBay from a boardie. Thanks Jon!
  8. Down to 6 long boxes and another odd ball box of "for sale" stuff. In 2000 I sold off 25 long boxes worth of stuff. Sniff.
  9. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CRIME-SUSPENSTORIES-22-CGC-4-5-Classic-DECAPITATION-/380364490315?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item588f7d864b Anybody have a clue about the price this guy is asking? There isn't much gpa data on this book. I really want one of these, and I don't mind a plod.
  10. In my opinion, he should always have the words "The Great" in front of his name. As in, "The Great Butch Guice." I have no idea about his appearances, by the way. Congrats on the beautiful book and sig.
  11. [font:Book Antiqua]Congratulations Sarah...[/font] (thumbs u Where is that dang RMA quote when I need it. To paraphrase: "Every collection is put together with care and thought and is deserving of respect." Congrats!
  12. Joe R Lansdale is one of my favorite writers. These are beautiful. Truman was born to draw Lansdale's version of Hex.
  13. I haven't posted in this thread in a while. I have a couple of slabs that are new and some signed books. Sorry about the pictures - my scanner is broken. Almost all of this stuff came from fellow boardies. I've always wanted a nice copy of this. Thanks Whetteon! This one I had slabbed and expected a 9.4. These are from a huge bunch of books I got dirt cheap from Joeypost. Signed by Bill S. Signed by Mike Zeck and John Beatty From buckycap: Signed by Finch And finally from my LCS Signed by Amy Reeder
  14. This may not help you, but it may help someone else . . . I have found that if the scanner utility from the manufacturer does not work, or the software you normally use for scanning does not work, try using the Fax and Scan wizard built into Windows 7.
  15. Great thread, great story, great piece. Thanks for sharing!
  16. The agony and the ecstasy. I got back an ASM 298 that I thought would be at worst a 9.2 - CGC 8.5. I got back a Star Wars #1 that I bought on these boards that I thought would be a 9.4 - CGC 9.6.
  17. Great Thread! I love Moon Knight and went on a buying kick when the Huston run had just begun. I lost interest during his third arc on the book, however. It felt like he lost whatever momentum he had. I'm glad to hear the Vengeance is good, though and will read those. I got a bunch of signed Bill S stuff from Joey Post on this board last year. I have some duplicates of the Moon Knight stuff. If you want me to dig it out and see what I will part with, I'd be happy to. Joey gave me a helluva deal, so I won't rake anyone over the coals. PM if interested. Thanks for the great thread!
