On the comic limit subject - maybe the store owner wouldn't have a problem if you pre-order everything you think you'll want extras of. -
I've liked it since the beginning. I went into my LCS last week and showed them they had a stack of about 20 number ones. After I grabbed two nice ones, they put them up at $25 each. At the Denver Comiccon last year I had Kindt sign both versions of #1 and do a Sweet Thor sketch for me. Great guy. Incredibly cool - I'm glad he got some of that Hollywood money.

No doubt. I'm not arguing that at all. I totally agree. The madness is ridiculous. Agreed. I was at the shop and could have had 700 and passed. I had heard what the plan was in the story and it sounded terrible. Is there another alternate reality Peter they can kill? Last year Ultimate and this year 616. 2099 anyone? -

I found the comics in the picture, plus a few League of Extraordiary Gentlemen, Runaways Limited #1 and a Wizard World Chicago Wanted variant - all in VF/NM or better and all for about $20 total. I was holding my breath on WD, but no dice. The Goon and Futurama alone will make my $$$ back, I think. Pretty Cool! They have some 10 and 12 centers, but I didn't want to do the research standing there. They were all outside my collecting focus - Ducks and such. They were also a lot more beat up and around $3.50 each. I'll have to go back. -

I'm reading "The Beekeeper's Apprentice" by Laurie King. Anyone read these? Great for the Sherlock Holmes fan. -

Organic economic function will make all of his thoughts irrelevant, anyway. If your listing is truly below market, it'll sell quickly, and the going rate for the book(s) will stay at the level he expects. Your one listing will not 'destroy' the market. basic micro economics - note that I teach a political and economic philosophy course at a Jesuit University every few years ... please read my prior post ... this whole discussion would be funny if it wasn't sad ... this is my last post, but I hope it is all the evidence that anyone who doubts my sincerity would ever need. This was your message that started all this: I don't see any sarcasm. I don't see any micro-economic expertise - just a suggestion one auction can cripple a market. Although I promised myself I would not continue this conversation, I feel that is incumbent upon me to clarify the misrepresentations made about me. Specifically, you failed to post the second message I sent to you seconds after the first message which stated - sorry for sending two messages … I’m on my cell phone … I’m not interested in any issue but issue number 1 … how many copies of number 1 do you have … if this auction doesn’t sell are you interested in selling me just issue 1 … alternatively, are you accepting best offers … thanks!” It is disingenuous for you not to include this post. I’m done with this conversation and apologize to those of you who are not involved in it for disrupting the topical conversation, but it is important that I not let people make false statements about me on the internet. Lies. Here is your second message. "You misunderstood my message ... probably me trying to type on my cell. My point is that your deal is way, way too good. If I didn't have 10 9.8s and 6 9.6's plus stacks of the other issues and variants I would snap your copy up in a heart beat. I think your deal is much better than everyone else's on feebay. AND now that I read the rest of your message ... you clearly took my message the wrong way. I was trying to pay you a compliment. BUT since your rood, I won't send you any messages, buy and of your stuff, compliment you or speak to you again. If you're just having a bad day, I hope it gets better. If you're generally this rude to all your potential customers, I hope you have a day job. " My day job is fine. I can even spell rude. Seriously, go away. -

Um, no. I am not of that opinion. I like how you have tried to explain it away as sarcasm. It clearly wasn't. It was an attempt to ARTIFICIALLY AFFECT THE MARKET FOR YOUR BENEFIT. Now seriously, go away. -

He said that if he didn't have stacks and stacks of them, he'd buy them himself. He also called me "rood." So if the book is so rare and valuable, how does he have stacks of them? I have been told that he is a boardie. Too bad its already Saturday. This could have been a killer flame war / Friday thread. -

The guy doesn't even have a 100 feedback rating, so I don't know if I should out him. I just looked and he doesn't even have one for sale right now, which is strange. Why bother me about it if he doesn't really have any skin in the game? -

Thief of Thieves Related Weirdness. I just listed my 2nd of two TOT sets. They include a CGC 9.8 copy of #1 (first print) and raw copies of 2-5. The first lot sold for $160. I little lower than what they were going for a couple weeks ago, but I'm happy with the profit. This second one I listed at $149 with a best offer option. Some 9.8 copies are now out there for around $100, so I felt like I was at the top end of the market, but adding the 2-5 might make the sale. I received this message from another eBay user: "Why don't you raise the price on this item to $25 lower than the other listed books and include the best offer option. There's only 200 copies of this book and your low price has crippled the market for the book by making it appear that the demand for the title is non-existent. Please don't take this message the wrong way, I'm just offering some friendly advise." I told the guy that there were plenty of other people out there selling it cheaper than me and asked if he was messaging all of them as well. I also told him that all of his assumptions were wrong and to never contact me again. Has anyone else ran into someone trying to increase the market value of a book in this way? So freaking weird. -
