If you want exotic innuendo donkeys, head to Jimbo's thread

Even I didn't know there are more exotic things than comic books here. Aw man, I missed that much.

clearly shows damage was occured  by CGC...........OR DID THEY SWAP OUT MY COMIC FOR ANOTHER. obviously its not one of the most expensive comics on the market.......but we all know the difference between 9.6 value to a 9.8 value. And this is my first shipment of comics to CGC to be graded..............wonder what they'll do to my next lot.

That is what I am afraid of.

It's hard to trust CGC.   Their graders notes are inconsistent for a long time.

My last submission was June 2023.  Got 8 books back with 6 SAME grader notes.

    Grader Notes:
    light bends to cover
    light creasing to cover
light spine stress lines to cover

I looked at 6 books.  All defects are different on my books but why did I get the SAME notes for all 6 books?  That's my major concern about their inconsistent notes.

I thought there might be some hint/giveaway within the image I was missing.  Most of the books on my list came from newspaper references.  Here's the full page of a 1953 article which lists authors (about mid-way down on the left column), some of which I have still not found.

I remembered his fantastic illustrations in those books that I spent hours at my local library during my summertime while I was still in the public schools.

My understanding is that he lived in Australia and drew for the pulps and magazines exclusively. I do see him doing for the comic books occasionally but he never drew any superhero characters. He seemed that he preferred to do the illustrations of adventures, mysteries and fantasies that were for the adults. I tried to read that articles but it's hard to read. Despite he turned it down on the offer for drawing the superman, I guessed that he didn't want to do anything with the ideas of developing the superheroes that may be for the children. That was not his style.

He said it was crazy to draw the superman.  I don't blame him for not changing his style.

  5. All unwanted books of mine were sold to MCS. I didn't care about them if the big differences in grading. Only 10% of my grades were matched (some grades were better than mine).

Any valuable books were undergraded severely by MCS were returned back to me rather than selling them cheap to MCS.

I always graded all unwanted books at GD.  They will give them the better grades by 2 to 4 points.

My Grandfather died from one over 50 years ago. He was basically a skeleton with a diaper in a crib at the end. Mom and Dad almost chose to not let me say goodbye. It was unsettling for a youngster. GOD BLESS ...

Same thing for my dad's parents.  They didn't have a good ending either.  It's hard to believe they were gone over 50 years ago too.

I went from being unable to stand, have a bowel movement, dress myself, or hardly feel my left side to being able to do some cooking and limited packaging. I was unable to walk and then moved to a walker for a couple of months, then a cane for a couple months, now I can limp and shuffle around like a zombie ... very jerky and off balance, but at least not bed ridden. I drop things from my left hand, can't pick up change or small things with it. I don't think I'll ever be back to work full time. Maybe part time. I was forced to apply early for SS to survive ... like they say, it's no country for old men. I still have some inventory I need to sell off, but no one's buying much. Probably going to consign it somewhere. I'm still kicking though. I definitely won't be doing the bi-weekly sales threads anymore, it just takes too long to do large scale shipping. I have taxes coming up and may try to do one small thread, depending on what I owe. Having the stroke in December caused me to miss most of one of the better months in the year. The boards have helped keep me from spiraling into the abyss of madness and boredom. :foryou: GOD BLESS ...

You sound better than my late grandmother.  I don't feel you are helpless but I felt helpless to watch my beloved grandmother bedridden and crying.  That was 20 years difference.  It's amazing how lucky people included my parents (both are 83) have advantage of the medical technology today.
