  1. Drek is what a comic book is the day before the upcoming movie is announced featuring the lead characters of said comic book.

    Rocket Raccoon says hello.

    864037.jpg

I will say this though, this issue is curiously absent from my collection and I may have a long box of 70s and 80s hulks, so I have to wonder if people in the know have been plucking them for years waiting for the racoon to explode. I find this hard to imagine as a lot of those Hulks I have were bought in the 80s and early/mid 90s out of 25 cent boxes when rocket was truly a fringe character, but it is what it is. It could be I just skipped it because of the stupid looking cover, but that has never stopped me before.

People were buying them because it was a first comic appearance. People have always bought first appearances for speculation purposes.

As a very long time Hulk collector I can tell you I *HATED* that book.

    How's about scoff?

  2. We could see 'ASM2' finally break the $200 MM domestic box office barrier this weekend. As of Thursday's results, it is right on the cusp. It just needs another $523,000 and it is there.

The movie has been adding about $120K daily, so it may just take Friday through Sunday's results to put it over the top.

Fantastic. It reminded me of Babylon 5. US audience was dismally low but International audience kept the show running

  3. Two low feedback buyers to block:

    julientristan22: Non-paying bidder. No communication.

polkadot2005: Had buyer's remorse before she even received the comic I sold her and requested a return. Admitted that she overspent.

Maybe 6 years old childs did that.

  4. Hey War Comic folks,

Would you please grade my 6 OAAW books in "Would you share a grade? section"

Once I get your estimate grades on my books, I will sell all books on this forum in about a week.

    Thanks for your time.

  5. If you dont want to go the e-book route, I would simply suggest buying an average condition run off ebay for $200 or whatever it goes for these days. Read it and then sell it on ebay again. Worst case scenario you'll lose $20 or so. Ya might even make a little money.

That's a good point. I might just do the quick read and flip. The problem is, if I end up liking the series as much as I think I will, I will want to keep them. foreheadslap.gif

Don't forget Alan Moore and John Totleben are famous in that series too.

  6. Possibly. I can't see it being a 9.0 or higher with a press, I might be wrong though.

The reason I thought it'd be lower, there was an unusual smell and some inner staining. Tempted to look at the notes.

It's five dollars to get the grader's note.

  7. Haven't seen these anywhere yet. Thought I'd at least share what they look like.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #1 MCGUINNESS VAR ANM

Yawn, why are there light highlights on the red parts if his costume? It makes it look plastic. I know most old timers don't like Ramos, but I do.

I have collected ASM until #700 then SSM ever since but I haven't read after McFarlane Era. What is the fuss about Ramos? His drawing skills?

  8. I guess someone will start a speculative thread on xmen books now

There are too many HG CGC copies of 141 and 142 out there.

Very unlikely to see any big jump.

I really think this movie however is NOT going to give us anything like those issues.

Since Bryan Overrated Singer is involved I already have it set in my mind this movie will blows balls.

Feel free to rant. :D I have my doubts, too, and I'm rather hoping they go a different direction from the classic story.

Don't forget John Byrnes!! One of his best works! There are parodies of #141 too.
