Arnold Schwarzenegger was Mr. Freeze in Batman movie in early 1990's. Was the price of this book skyrocketed after that movie?

I am still waiting the copy but USPS is damn slowpoke!

I bought a mid grade copy and a beater about 6 years ago and they both have gone up nearly tenfold on what I paid for them.  Not sure of the price bump when Arnold played Mr. Freeze.

Funny you mention. I won the book right at my MAX. Like I said, I didn't expect to win. I was contacted by CL the next day before I could pay and was offered $400 to release the book to someone else who really wanted it, but forgot about the auction. Thats when I knew I really got a heck of a deal. :headbang:

Didn't know the Link did this.  Doesn't surprise me, though.  I'm glad it arrived safe and sound.

Anyone else notice there's quite a few impressive, high grade Adams Bats and 100 pagers (including a 9.8 'Tec 441) coming up in the next CL auction?  I made a promise to myself that I should stay happy with what I already have and not pursue any upgrades, but I am really tempted.  I wonder if this is a collection that someone is letting go.

Probably Greggy dumping some duplicates.  :martini:

Yep.  Resurrecting an old thread. May be counting my chickens before they hatch as I don't have the book in-hand yet, but this will get shipped to me shortly.  Book seemed to have gone under the radar for some folks as I got it fairly cheap off of CL's last auction.  Was actually surprised I won it at all.  I would imagine there's a few bidders who completely forgot when this one was ending.

Wow!  That's a fantastic deal.  I didn't even see the book up for auction.  Fantucchio's have gone for absurd amounts, I'm scratching my head why it went as reasonable as it did.

My collection.  All virgins...never pressed or cleaned. I've been hunting for a 9.8, but I can't get myself to shell out $20K+ for what they are going now.  I got all these years ago for SUBSTANTIALLY less than what they are going for now.

Nice!  I'd love to take that 9.2 off of your hands.  Not in this market though.  Congrats on an awesome trifecta!

While this is not Clink's fault, I think they could apply pressure to the seller by saying he still owes them the 10% fee.

Or banning the seller from selling on their site.  The buyer got the scroogy sandwich, which sucks.  Similar thing happened to me years ago.

he took all his hulk 181s and also his JIM83s and upped the prices on ebay once the recent auction highs were acheived. his strategy is clearly to keep everything overprcied until someone is desperate enough to set a new price high with him. amazing he ever sells anything.

The seller doesn't need the money and does set nosebleed prices, ,but man, he has the goods.  He must have had 15 copies of Hulk 181 in 8.5 and mostly higher at Wondercon 8 years ago.  You name the key, he had it and usually in multiples.  I remember making what I thought was an aggressive offer on his WWBN1 9.6 Suscha News copy.  The best looking copy I have ever seen, but he declined.  Guess what, ,somebody eventually paid his price.
