  1. All Western Winners 2 formerly All Winners Comics 6.5 copy freed from it's prison, OW/W pages manufactured with a single staple. First app and origin of the Black Rider, see it's a Timely and first app so I didn't lie in the title. Label is included with the book. $500

  2. Hello One and All,

Welcome to my first sales thread in a long while here on the boards. Going to list a few books, all very tightly graded, I do like to believe that I'm accurate to within .5 of a grade if a book was to be submitted to CGC.

Payment is via Paypal or check, checks will have to clear before your books ship.

    Open to US/CAN/INTL

Shipping in the US is via USPS Flat Rate medium box and is $15

CAN and INTL will require a quote and most likely customs declaration

Payment is due within 48 of invoicing if paying via Paypal and 7 days if by check

Returns are accepted if I missed something, buyers remorse is not an acceptable reason for a return

PM's for offers are accepted, but the Takeit guy or any variation of take it wins if negotiations are ongoing

Time payments available for anything over $1000 or if your total purchase exceeds $1000, PM for details.

First up is Fantastic Four Annual 2 First App of Werner von Doom & King Vladimir Fortunov, VG+ 4.5 minor chipping to top edge front and back and some dust on the cover, staples have not popped through the cover, scuff on the cover by the O in DOOM visible in the scan, square bound Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. CR/OW pages $900

    OK.  (shrug)  My 2c ,

Venus -- 2.5, solely due to the amount of corner real estate missing -- otherwise looks much better

Cap -- tough to know what CGC would do with the staining, but 3.0 seems like a good guess.

I'll redo the pics,  your feedback is appreciated.

I'd recommend one book per thread... and if you really want honest opinions, the cropped photos make it tough to finetune either one.  :foryou:

Not cropped, just how they scanned and I didn't want to take up too must real estate.

If you don't mind a little 'cheese' in your game, not sure if they patched this but with Radagan you can run up to him and stop and he wont move.  I beat him once like this.  I used a fully upgraded bow with regular arrows to get him near half health then poison arrows to get him past half health (if you hit him with melee weapon or regular arrows he will stun at half health and fall out of the 'trance').  After he is past half health, continue with the arrow barrage until he is beat.  This will get you to the Beast at full strength, good luck from there!

I'll try, this sounds a bit like the Moghwyn cheese.

That was one of the toughest boss fights for sure, getting through to the Elden beast without being totally spent was imperative.   The sword of blasphemy plus mimic summon made Radagon much easier.

Did it with a Dex faith arcane daggers build.  How bout yourself?

Ive been trying some pvp and getting destroyed hah.

Dex/Arc, mimic tear shows me how awful my build is when it gets bodied in a couple minutes.

Beat it last night...I've still got it, whatever it is.  Was it tough?  Sure, as far as modern games go pretty tough... but it still has nothing on games of the 80s and 90s where you have 3 lives, and when you die you start all the way over etc.

Happy days...I'm not senile yet, because I can still beat a reasonably tough video game.

Stuck on Radagon and Elden Beast.

I'm not much of a gamer, but the Fallout games are my weakness. I probably put 200 hours into Fallout 4, very slowly, over a few years. It was during the pandemic, when I was work-from-home for a year, that I put serious elbow grease into finishing all of the DLC and tracking down all of the random stuff. Really loved it, but I loved all of the Fallout console games.

You've not yet experienced the underwhelming universe of Fallout 76.

I believe in order to put someone on the PL list it has to be known up front how they would get off of the list. So yeah, presenting vagueness on what  your acceptable resolution would be seems like it would actually prevent being added to the list in the first place.

I have offered him books to buy to help me recoup the cost, ive offered that he can send me partial payment in cash and books. Nothing has been accepted.

What would be done if Roger passed away while you were waiting to be made whole?  Sounds far fetched, happens all the time, all day, every day.

The only deal on the table is books in the hand and what you take them for at the time you receive them. After that, its chaos no matter what you think.  Anything else is hopium mixed with naivety and magical thinking for flavor. Learn the lesson now - and it's not about Roger.

Your best bet is to agree on an arbitrator.  Roger understands that once that process begins he is bound by the decision, as you are.

He didn't pass away though did he, so that is moot.

And I guess a promise is only as good as the person making it.

Dave, I am very sorry that both of you are going through this and I  have a few  questions.

You state that you are an experienced seller. Are you also an experienced grader?

If so, why would you value Roger's grading expertise beyond yours?

Also did you see pinholes when you got the book?

I am a very experienced grader, ive been buying and selling here for almost a decade and I've not had a book sold here returned to me in almost 7 years.

I did not see any pinholes, but I also do not have a jewelers loop.

I dont value other people's grading opinion above my own, however grading is all subjective. If Roger was willing to  say that this book would get a VF/NM and go so far as to say there is no way it isn't was good enough for me.

Yeah, it's a real problem.  It's hard to believe this book was actually a 6.0 before leaving Roger's hands because there's no way an experienced person would a) mis-judge a book by that much or b) think they could claim a 9.0 grade for a 6.0 and have another experienced person not realize it either from the scans/pictures or when the book was in hand.  If the book was damaged somehow when sent for pressing or after, that's where the obligation lies, so it's easy to see why Roger would be concerned about providing full compensation if the Dave could also then make a claim against Metro.

Did you see the picture of the book in the holder and the notes I posted? What press or what mishandling would account for pinholes in the cover?

And, that is only half the issue here, the TR32 was estimated at a 4.0, minimum 3.5 I'd the cover was to become completely detatched from the book, which it did.

All of this is documented in the very first post I made.

I thought he sidestepped the issue in the texts, stating would you contact him if it came back higher? It did not seem that he agreed (I may have overlooked it) explicitly to anything.

It is a pickle. I myself never subscribe to the "cgc grade does not = raw grade" argument, the submitter takes responsibility somewhere as well and I believe it is before books are subbed to a third party. I'll say again, you should resolve disputes before selling...again, not a legal guy but did you relinquish some rights by selling? Good you brought it here, but always be explicit. He said he would make it right and you said that is good enough for you, so now what?

both parties agree to something being "owed"? $2800 was requested and rebuffed. I don't do legalities, but there are different forms of arbitration, correct? Is it $2800 or nothing, or is an intervening amount in play?

Again, I've presented him with several options on the phone and via text. Nothing has happened.
