  1. Just listed in my current sales thread MY ROMANTIC ADVENTURES #50 4.5 C/OW Classic story and cover "Love of a Lunatic"
  2. I knew you'd approve. I guess us Timely geeks always thought 3 was the toughest to find huh? The census shows 12 copies have been slabbed and only one higher at 8.5. Certainly dont see it around much! Beautiful copy Russ! I think some of these early Schomburg covers are among his most original and adventurous - before thay start to become overly formulaic a few years later.
  3. Probably right there - all you have to have is a slightly-too-sharp contrast and it's amazing how the colors appear to saturate.
  4. Hi Ron. Does he have this stuff on a web site somewhere? Hi Michael, Jon has a 5 page ad in this year's OSPG. There's contact info there. He's going to be set up in New York this year and he's always at Chicago. Believe me, once he starts talking he won't let you go. His prices for 9.6 Zips are 5x Guide, and 9.8's are 8X I think. There's no GPA on most of his books, so why bother. The price on the Terrific in 9.4 is $50,000. I'm sure he still has it. Thanks for the advice Ron, Jeff, Cat. There is till one grail that has eluded me for too many years and I may well give him a call to see if he can locate one for me. (I'll make sure the call is at the weekend when international rates are cheapest, that way he can talk at me as much as he likes! Sounds really very entertaining actually!)

  6. About the best copy of this issue I can recall seeing. Great books Richard! I'm partial to this one too. Outstanding copy. Ken Someday Richard needs to post his whole run of this title. I've seen at least one that is probably my favorite book ever posted here. I'd like to see what other goodies are there! Richard is a doozy. How true

  8. Nice book Jon - one of the more striking covers that stands out from the common ruck! My impression is that it is also one of the scarcer issues from this period.
  9. So hard to find fresh copies from this period! The blues in particular rarely stay this fresh, even when the reds/oranges do. Great catch Michaël!

  11. Thanks buddy. Wont be in my hot li'l hands until next week earliest, but couldnt resist posting it in this thread!
  12. You paid way too much, but so will anyone else who really wants a high grade icon these days. We just have to adjust our expectations upwards once again, and realise that for books like this prices are continuing to rise, even though the market may be arguably quite static for most "average" material. There are still bargains to be had, but unless, oh, say three better copies are sprung loose by this sale, - and probably even then - you've made a very sound investment. So sleep well (with the book in your arms?) Congratulations on a wonderful book!
  13. i bought it raw and gave it a read before i had it graded onsite.. Always been one of my favourite EC covers - no surprise there!
  14. Well, let's not exaggerate! Some things are immeasurable...
  15. That's not what she said. Ask her again, this time look her in the eye. You'll know then..... I've seen that look before. It's heartbreaking. She'll forgive your shortcomings if you just ask her Keep telling yourself that. You guys are a hoot and a half.
