  1. I see some BA Defenders getting very good prices on eBay:

    Defenders 17 1st Wrecking Crew

Defenders 18 - 1st Full App Wrecking Crew

I've been trying to grab both of these in the last few months to no avail as yet. Surely we'll see Wrecking Club in the Marvel Cinematic/TV universe soon. If you like Wrecking Crew, I'd recommend Iron Fist 12 too, Claremont & Byrne with Iron Fist and Cap team up!

Grap, and flip it quick cause absolute garbage doesnt sell high for long.

    What DREK

People love arse-kicking fights and destruction and these guys are involved in a ton of them with Marvel's A-list. I've been flipping these for years and get a nice profit when properly labeled as first appearances and put on my wall.

  2. I pulled a copy of 40 this weekend for a song.

Thanks to the poster in the original thread.

Really curious why it jumped up (other than a hilarious cover).

This book was always HTF in the wild.. Had 3 sets of SH 1-60 with that book as a hole in the past few years. It was just posted here, without credit to me, as a bait.

Thank you for giving proper credits tho. Not that I really need it lol but much appresh (thumbs u

Thanks for the heads up. I just put 2-59 in my $1 boxes a few weeks ago, but have yet to take them to a show. Coming out and going on the wall!

  3. Here is one off the top of my head that I know Iook for, but never find. I mean, finding any of them in the $1 bins/back issue bins is hard enough even at a inflated price. The book I speak of is Jason vs. Leatherface (Topps #3). I have stumbled across two copies of #1 (7.5 and 9.2 respectively), one nice copy of #2, but never, ever, see #3. The #1's and 2's were had in cheapo boxes just by pure luck on my part;aka diving waaaaay too many boxes than is healthy I'm suspecting. lol

Maybe others in different geo. regions have better luck with these??

Only once. I picked up a set in $1 boxes in Florence, SC two years ago at a con.

  4. After 30+ years of collecting, I got my first copy back in the summer. I purchased it raw for $1050 from a local dealer who had it at a 6.0. He is always tight on his grading, so I spend a decent amount of money with him on raw books, especially keys. After a press from Al at Basement Comics in Baltimore, I received this back in the mail this weekend.........

  5. Since it has been repeatedly argued that "newsstand" isn't important, I suppose this must be a completely unexpected example of "Copper Heating/Selling Well": http://www.ebay.com/itm/252619622987

60% higher than GPA because it has a barcode.

That's good to see. I have a newsstand copy, but someone at the plant screwed up and added a cover by mistake.

I remember when you posted that you found this book.

The only modern slab in my collection. Can't bring myself to sell it.

Did you find this raw in the wild? Absolutely stunning!

  6. Ultimate Comics is Durham, NC bags and boards every new issue then charges you extra for them when you purchase. If you dont want to pay the extra charge, they manhandle your books pretty good when removing them. Needless to say, I bought one book there once.

When I worked at CC's Comics & Collectibles in Wilmington, NC in the early 90's, the shop owner was so paranoid about bag/price switching that he heat sealed every back issue. Of course that also made you buy new bags for every back issue you bought as it would get destroyed when you opened it to read.

  7. I'm still pulling my Spider-man 13s . . . since this afternoon. lol:acclaim:

Why are people paying for this, just because of the cover? (shrug)

Correct. Isn't that all it usually takes? How many of those cover collectors have ever actually ready the interiors? I ask it all the time at cons I do, and it's probably 75% to "I just collect cool looking covers".

  8.

Why?....because someone thought it was worth that much. That's why all books sell for the price they do.

If this is your reasoning what are you even doing here? Anyone can look at recent eBay sales and note prices.

No reason to judge how someone else spends their money.

Yes, there is a reason. Because when you post a book that sold people in this community are interested in whether that sale is an anomaly or part of a trend. Since people here make money, some their entire living, off the comics market this sort of thing matters.

Cable and Deadpool 50 is being bought and sold currently due to misinformation. It was previously bought and sold because its a final issue, until recently when some people made sure to mention it all over the comics-related internet as it being the first appearance of Venompool. Incorrectly. This results in eBay sellers incorrectly touting it as the first appearance of Venompool and buyers of varying intelligence purchasing it as a result. Where were these sellers advertising this book as the first appearance of Venompool a year ago? Two years ago? Venompool has been around for roughly 5 years so why the discnnect? This isn't a coincidence. Its almost like market manipulation is real. :eyeroll:

Why does this matter, I mean who cares about the insufficiently_thoughtful_person buyers who don't know any better? Well if you're going to buy into a book it just kind of sort of matters if the interest in that book is genuine or built on lies. That maybe kind of sort of gives an indication of where the book will be valued next week, next month, next year. And call me crazy but some sellers might actually care if what they are selling is the real thing or a fugazi.

So what is the first "Venompool" then? The Back in Black series is crazy popular here already and people are running around trying to find the first time they merge. Are people saying that it's the What If.....? issue and this isn't because it's a random symbiote that bonds with Wade?

  9. 70s style soul. lol nevermind. I'm leaving this alone.

    lol

first episode was decent enough. Dude playing Cottonmouth was killer in House of Cards and the strongest part of the episode. Cage's acting is pretty stiff.

ASAP is legit, though. Is it pandering? I dunno.

War is Hell #9 is doing ok in VG and above :insane:

Why is the second appearance of Death heating up?!?!

  10. Bought a raw mid-grade Doc Strange 169 and it came packed like Fort Knox, with a freebie FF82, and in much better than advertised shape. I couldn't have asked for a better transaction.

And it arrived 3 days after I paid.............

    Thanks, Dan!

    Sam

  11. well, the Rebirth so far is somewhat refreshing...the comics are better and cheaper than they have been in quite some time (other than Snyders Batman). For once in a long while i'm looking forward to the next issue of several DC comics. I may just buy them all so that I don't miss something important.

Cheaper per issue? Yes, but now they are bi-weekly so you are paying more per month. I also dont think that I will likw the alternating artist scenario. Hard tomfet in a good reading rhythm when styles are constantly changing.

  12. Oh, it's happening.

    $100 for a 9.8 Deadworld

    $80 for a 9.8 Batman #408

Plus plenty of raw sales on the Batman #408 $10-$20.

I mean, these are obviously the hottest books on the planet.

I'll certainly be reminding everyone about them. I

I just sold multiple copies of Batman 408 to fellow dealers at SCComicon. I'm not positive as to what all the fuss about, but the word is out. This book is obviously en fuego!
