Hey Kids, Comics!

I actually found 6 more after digging through some more boxes. I left 3 because they were destroyed.

They were the counterfeit versions, but I bought them all just to get them off the market so as not to be confused by some unknowing soul down the line.

I would say my favorite Larry article from Google is his Twitter war with Kevin, but I won't because I hate non-topical responses.

Mine is nowhere near as cool as the rest to anyone but me and purely for sentimental reasons. I bought this Dinosaur For Hire #6 pg 14 from by Chuck Wojtkiewicz at HeroesCon in the early 90s. I also bought a Jason Pearson LOSH page at the same show (which I no longer have). They were $10 each.

This thread lost any meaning several months ago.

Batman Adventures 12 continues to sell at higher prices. Yes I know the book is 20 years old and not exactly readily available, but it can be found for cheap in back issue stock both online and in your lcs.

 

In what world?!? It has been YEARS since I found one anywhere that would be considered moderately cheap .

At least 9.4, probably 9.6 you can do a search on ebay and see it.

Picked up a Sixth Gun 1 for $6.99 at my LCS Wed and just sold it on ebay for $109.99 in under 30 minutes!

God I hate Video Game comics but this one is rising quick.

Did you read any of the background on those comics? Pretty dark stuff: Supes kills Lois Lane and his unborn kid after being drugged by the Joker....he's convinced she's Doomsday.....pretty nuts....and that's the jump off for the video game. I gotta say, I typically agree that video game comics blow.....but this entire premise and backstory seem a bit different...with larger ramifications for the DC universe titles.

I thought in the game that Joker levels Metropolis with a nuke, killing Lois and their son unborn son, and then Supes kills Joker. Is the comic plot completely different? If Supes kills Lois in the comic, I'm going to pick one up today and read it!

How many people went straight to google "viperdays ebay"? I know I did! In fairness to him, he did sell 3 Batman Inc 8s!

If you were going to try and stock up on Phil Coulson first appearances in the normal comtimuity, what would you grab? The Battle Scars 1 were "Cheese" debuts and is the first appearance of Marcus Johnson/Fury or Battle Scars 6 which reveals "Cheese" to be Phil Coulson? My LCS probably has 40 copies of #1 in their $1 box.

I'm doing a show next weekend where Francavilla is the only guest there (small deal in Charleston, SC) so I picked up a few of these today to sell for people to get signed/get signed myself. OOPS! I didn't notice that 7 of the 20 were already signed. Apparently leftovers from an in-store signing and I left another 40+ on the shelf (not sure how many of the ones I left may have been signed).

I just can't understand people paying money for Previews magazine. Seems like the biggest stretch imaginable.

I am but he's gone. I flipped the 6 of the final 17 to a friend who only needs a handful to have all of the vintage figs loose.

It was outside and generally worthless. Some of the parts will be worth saving though. Probably throw the shell away as it is broken anyway.

Not a garage sale/flea market find but a co-worker who knew I collected selling off his son's stuff.

Sometimes it pays to take a flyer and drive 30 miles to a shop that you haven't been to in a couple of months.............................

Aree wholeheartedly. I've seen the same dealer the last two months at cons with a really nice copy on his wall that he can't move for $20.

Seems the first print is pretty low on ebay. @ about $10-$12 a pop for the Ross cover

I sold out of all my copies TO DEALERS at $10 a pop at the 1/20 Heroes MiniCon. Not a bad return on under $3.

I can see why Star Wars 1 is a winner for Dark Horse. I read a newstand copy today. Its well written, low print run, good art, HUGE fan base lying dormant, and new movie coming out. All a nice combination for a hit.

What was the print run? I would have thought it to be fairly large.
