  1. My scan is on my old web space. I'll have to repost when I get to my computer.
  2. Oh, this is going to be good. We need a separate thread so outlier sales can be reported. Yep. A good book, but not $28 good.
  3. It can change, but should be solid at this point.
  4. I start at received. If they've got my books in the system then the clock starts. This is especially true in this new era of several weeks passing before they're verified in many tiers.
  5. Until they ship the grades aren't listed, so you won't need to try that hard to not see them. You're right; I'm a noob at this part. I clicked the invoice link, saw all of the info pop up, then quickly closed the window. Yeah, all the other fields will be populated except the grades and PQ. You may have a couple of days before they ship and the grades are revealed.

  7. I don't like the "series of miniseries" thing either, so I think this is where I jump off and wait for those trades.
  8. Probably too early for this thread, but I know you guys will appreciate it. The scratches in the title are on the outside of the case.
  9. Mine is a Brother MFC-8480DN all-in-one laser printer with a legal scanner. I've been very pleased and haven't had any real software issues. The scans below are with the out of the box software and Windows 7. I just bought this on clearance at Office Max for $100 and for slabs it takes forever to scan and send via wireless. Also the slabs come back blurry. Played with the settings and still having issues. Going to return it tomorrow. I knew I would run into this issue. Going to purchase a HP Scanjet 8300 on ebay. There is a seller that has 10 of these new in the box for $250. If you want to go with a scanner for your slabs - in my experience, you will never find anything at a store that works well. Your best bet is always buying used or going online buying over-stock. Yeah, I realized that now I thought $100 for a wide format all in one is a good deal figuring it's some what the new model plus build in wifi but now I am swaying at a hp 8300 over stock. I bought mine new at a store and it gives me nice results. It is a Brother all-in-one laser, and I can post the model number when I get home.

  11. Rusty staples concern me a lot, maybe more than tape, as being both unsightly and having huge potential for continued deterioration and damage to the book. I can accept tape in a low grade book much more readily than staple rust, and cannot accept a high grade (VF and above) book with rust.
  12. Bolded the first part. I thought that this was the type of issue third party grading was supposed to solve. I can't see rusty staples in anything approaching VF, let alone NM-.
  13. We've heard about a 9.0 and a 9.2 with rust on the staples, the latter being my book. So your 8.5 theory may require some reconsideration.
  14. I had a CGC 9.2 with a lightly rusted upper staple. I won it in an auction and paid fairly strong as it was an otherwise beautiful book with white pages. I couldn't live with the staple and ended up selling the book for a loss at auction through the same venue I purchased it from.
  15. Always nice to see full sets of both quotation marks and blue under the bottom table on the same cover. Exceptional 2.0!
  16. I have no idea who Zombizzy is. It doesn't really matter. That guy has such a raging Pringle Can sized boner for him that he will post anywhere and everywhere. Just go with it. Funny, but also a mental image I wish I didn't have.
  17. CGC has recently added the "real name" info to FF 52 as well I noticed. And great books guys. Leroy that 8.0 is particularly mesmerizing. You should really visit SA more often if you're sitting on gems like that. -J. You see some AF #15s that have (Peter Parker) and some that don't. Not sure if it is consistent now or when they made the switch.
  18. Are the dates for OAFCON 2015 known yet? I'd really like to add it to my calendar.
  19. I realized that the photo of my copy broke because it was on my old webspace, so I thought I would (completely manufacture this excuse to) repost a book I hadn't looked at in a while.
  20. Exactly. I don't think that price is out of line at all, assuming it truly is a NM+ copy.
  21. Rich, good to see you! Excellent book, it's in my top pre-hero covers as well.
  22. FTFY, even worded it more in favor of your view, but you cant cram "origin story" on to CM1, its just not true. So the difference between "first reference" (nice to see you've allowed that much) and "first appearance" would be what, exactly? Please explain. sure, didnt see your post before I am happy to, but you miss-quoted, let me restore that for you. The debate isnt about the release dates. The argument started because I said people were missing the forest for the trees, chasing a date instead of the actual event. CM1 and AS9 are part 1 and part 2 of a two part story. They were released offset (out of order), to help boost part 1's sales, because part 2 was placed in a much more popular book (for the sole purpose of said sales boost). Carol becomes Captain Marvel in Captain Marvel #1 (part 1 of the two part story). Because of the offset release dates, he was attempting to call CM1 an origin story. The pointing being to diminish the fact that that is the book where she becomes Captain Marvel. But, saying it doesnt make it true. It is not an origin story, its part 1 of a two part story released out of order. If people want to buy a release date (part 2, released out of order), they can (trees). I am saying they are missing the forest (part 1, where she becomes Captain Marvel). In a way, its very validating that the debate has turned to trying to diminish the fact that Carol becomes Captain Marvel in Captain Marvel, by attempting to label it an origin story. At least that means what actually matters is the focus now, instead of nonsense, name calling, and straw-men. But if we are talking about first appearances, emphasis on the first in that sentence, it is odd that you are arguing that the release dates are immaterial to this issue. CM #1 has basically been turned into a flashback origin story because of the release dates. It doesn't matter that these happened only a week apart; Avenging #9 came out a week earlier and is thus the first appearance. It is quite clear that Marvel intended to release the books in this order, otherwise Avenging #9 wouldn't reference the stories in this order in the recap. This establishes in my mind, and obviously for most of the folks posting in this thread, that Avenging #9 is the first appearance (excepting the Summer of Spider-man one shot, which is chronologically earlier but simply previews story pages from Avenging #9). If anything, the Summer one shot establishes the precedence of Avenging #9, as "introducing the New Captain Marvel" is right there on the cover in reference to that issue. If Avenging #9 isn't the first appearance, why would Marvel call it such? They could have easily said "guest starring the new Captain Marvel". They didn't. Dates may not matter to you, but when establishing a first appearance they do matter to everyone else.
  23. Try responding to this then: spamming cant make CM1 an origin story, So the difference between "first reference" (nice to see you've allowed that much) and "first appearance" would be what, exactly? Please explain.
