  1. I’m in Texas this weekend, but can Paypal the funds wherever they’d need to go.
  2. Agreed, and for this Chicagoan it’s a chance to come visit and eat the food of my people. So sad to miss this year.
  3. Happy to help! Once I get settled into my new place I’ll post a list of my doubles and the ones I still need. I’m always happy to trade for what I need, or buy if the price is fair. Maybe we could host a DCU trade weekend where everyone who’d like to participate could lay their doubles list out. May help some of us fill gaps, though I’d bet most of us are missing a lot of the same ones.
  4. I go to buy books. It’s always a great show for that.
  5. I’d throw in another $25 on top of Catrick’s generosity.
  6. If you’ll get to WW Chicago, Monster’s Lair Comics will have a fresh batch of magazines, many from the original owner with lots of high grade. Here is a taste of what will be waiting at booth 732:
  7. More monster magazines, including Famous Monsters of Filmland #3-18:
  8. It's funny you mentioned that one as I recently saw it but passed because of the price. Is it that valuable/rare ? It’s definitely on the uncommon/difficult list. What was the asking price?
  9. Nope, my brother is though. I am pricing stuff for him...
  10. Monster’s Lair Comics will be bringing an original owner collection of late 10 and early 12 cent DCs to the show. Most major titles are represented, and many of the books are in the F or VF range with some better. Come see us at booth 732.
  11. I was in a similar position as you after my first 9-10 months, about a shortie worth of variants. The first 150 are like the gateway drug, nice shots of discovery adrenaline that set you up for collecting these seriously, and then finds become much fewer and farther between. You’ll keep finding those Superboy #4-5 like they grow on trees, but the #3 is elusive and the #2 is tough. Once you start getting to that level you may discover a new variant you need once every 3-4 months. I’ve found one that I needed in the wild this year (JLTF #32), and the others I’ve picked up either came from dealers that seek these out and mark them up appropriately, or other collectors in this thread.
  12. I had figured it’d be early-mid October, so that fits.
  13. Mine are still at received. Time to call CGC. I’ve got a 6/21 Value still at received, ask them about mine too!
  14. Interesting. It would appear that I spoke prematurely, at least to a degree.
  15. For whatever thats worth. I don’t mean that as a shot, just that sample sizes are pretty small, and Hunters are very few. This. And if none of the knowledge collected here was used (not that we are the be all end all, but the collective knowledge of DCUs in this group is pretty good) then I’d question how good this list is. We tend to be reluctant to tag anything as rare because we just don’t know. And these things can vary regionally. For example, Kirk has said he finds Action #718 to be difficult, while I’ve found three of them. Action #706 used to be practically unknown, but like 5 have surfaced in the last year (I’ve found a couple myself). There are other books that I consider hen’s teeth that others have found. So what do these scenarios tell us about rarity of any specific book? Your guess is as good as mine.
  16. I played with that set endlessly as a kid, and got one a few years ago for my collection.
  17. Customers having too much ease, convenience, and choice over their own property.
  18. Or, make the scans and offer them up here in the sales forums first. Whatever doesn’t sell can then go to eBay or Clink.
