calcifer2610 is a real tool He put an offer in on a relatively high dollar item. I countered and he said he'd need until Friday to pay. I said that was fine and he purchased the item. On Friday, he emails me and says that since another has popped up for $100 less than the agreed price, he can't pay above that amount. Against my better judgement, I tell him that if he cancels the ebay transaction to save fees, I'll pass that back to him by knocking the 100 off his bill. Two days later I haven't heard back, so I email again and he says curtly that he isn't going to pay and I need to cancel the deal. I put through an 'item not paid' request and tell him to accept to cancel the deal. He can't be bothered and I have to wait days before closing it on my own to get the fee credited. I've noticed his feedback is down to 91.7% so he must be a poor seller as well. Add him to your blocked bidder lists and generally avoid all around.

TMNT has had a good 30 year run of mass multimedia marketing with two movies, a cartoon show that everyone my age watched for years, multiple toy lines, multiple comic runs and a first issue with a print run 80% lower than Rat Queens. I agree that the book has serious cosplay/fantasy nerd appeal and a TV deal, but to hit TMNT level, you need to really dominate that 8-12 year old demographic. An R-rated female-centric Dungeons and Dragons homage just can't tap into that market. FYI, I read somewhere online that TMNT has generated over $6 BILLION in revenue over that period. Not sure how accurate that is, but I don't doubt it.

The first issue can still be bought on ebay for between 10 and 15 dollars. That does not speak well for the demand of this series. It's more about the fact that there's twice as many #1s out there as subsequent issues. 20K+ is more than enough for demand. 11K, not so much.

My ECCC copy is currently being slabbed. Guessing it's somewhere in the 7.0 range, but I didn't press it first. I have no idea what I'd sell it for - it's the only one of the floppies I really care about. Otherwise, my 5G collection is all OA.

Eh...I've people (especially artists) do much, much worse to original art. It doesn't need to grade 9.8

Just read #1 last night. It was pretty good. Was one of those sci-fi/fantasy style comics where they just throw you into the world, mention a whole bunch of weirdo terms without explaining anything, and you really just have to read on to figure the world out. From the letter page, it seems like Remender has been working on this for a while, and is in it for the long haul. Should have picked up some extras. No wonder most of the copies I ordered were canceled. Bought a ton of them from various ebayers and I think one person actually sent me my order. Neg 'em.

This book is gonna blow up sooner than later if it keeps up the quality. It has a ton of things going for it.

Wool was a fantastic book. Flip the comic but if you're looking for a good read, the full novel is where it's at.

It's crazy how subjective art is and how different people are. I enjoy trying to figure out what's going on in a panel. I generally enjoy impressionistic art. I respect your opinion, but it think it's silly to say comics "should" be a certain way. No sillier than saying a car should get you from point A to point B. n.b. the bolded If you view cars as a completely utilitarian item, then sure. But some are made for racing and others for show. Similarly, there's utilitarian comic art, which is probably perfect for the big mainstream books and then there's art where the artist has a little creative freedom and chooses to make the reader think a little bit or look at an image twice. That said, I do think the interiors of Low looked rushed in places, which obviously isn't good for the artist or reader.

If the regular #1 can hold $200ish in 9.8 then the RRP should certainly be able to maintain its current price with about 1/75 the print run and a much better cover. And I don't even own one now, so I'll shut up.

Interesting. I guess it's a different story told in the same world as the comic? I read the first Zero TPB and it was pretty damn excellent.

Funny, I had always heard he was a , but the guy was super friendly and conversational the one time I met him and that was at the end of a long day with many long lines of signature hounds. He's a really solid writer too, obviously!
