  1. Yeah, that cover kicks all kinds of . Definitely one of the top 2 or 3 after #1.
  2. I know he wrote a horror anthology book (non-comic) that was good enough to get Stephen King on board as the backup writer for the first American Vampire arc, so there's that.
  3. It could be worthless in a year. I mean, no offense at all to the creators - I like the book and think it has a shot of really standing out, but the hype is getting out of hand. I understand it is your business, but geez. This could be better than Walking Dead #1. The key word here is "COULD" The foundation is built for this to be better than Walking Dead. The 1st appearance is more limited. Only time will tell.... Jesus COULD return next year on a rainbow powered unicorn, followed by a million UFOs who will beam the faithful into heaven while smiting the non believers with copies of the Enormous one-shot. The key word here is "COULD" Only time will tell.... Which issue of Jesus Island is the first appearance of that unicorn? Do you know the print run? I think she actually first appeared in MLP: Friendship is Magic #8. Stock up

  5. Let's not start abbreviating this d-bag's username.
  6. Lower. I don't feel like looking it up, but I think it was in the 12K range.
  7. Speaking of Preacher, in a couple issues, there will be TWICE as much Walking Dead art produced vs. Preacher. It's already doubled YTLM and is creeping up on 2x the number of Sandman pages. And it's still going! On and on forever. Just something to think about next time a $650 talking heads page starts to look like a bargain - by the time this series wraps, there will probably be 5000 similar pages out there.
  8. I don't think that page is underpriced. It's just that a lot of the more mediocre new stuff is overpriced.
  9. I made a killing on the Sideshow/WETA Lord of the Rings statues about 10 years ago. If you do it right and pick the right stuff, there's definitely money to be made.
  10. There's art from a character's first appearance (any page from their first book) and then there's the character's very first page or cover. This is the first time he appears anywhere, so I think there's an extra premium for that even though you can't see his face.
  11. CAF has a market data feature for premium members that collects past sales. Past that it wouldn't work because it all depends on so many variables that are different for each page. You can categorize pages as A, B, C level examples but even that will always be somewhat subjective.
  12. Are these really sold out everywhere? Or just 1-per-customer limits? So I saw these on Wednesday, and thought I'll come back for it later in the week in NYC. Came back today to three different shops all sold out..... Why is this so hot? It's a Southern Bastards prototype.
  13. It's interesting. It's a HUGE moment from the comic and very memorable. It's also two 11x17 pages with no stats, and content wise, better than most splashes and covers. That said, it's pretty gruesome, and I actually believe that pages depicting gross/stomach churning moments go for slightly cheaper. I'm guessing this ends between $4,500 and $5,100 I have to disagree on the gruesomeness holding it back. I think there are some outspoken collectors who have publicly stated that on this board and it's been adopted as gospel, when it's not really the case. TWD is character driven, but it's still a horror book and this is a prime example of character driven horror. I'd put these up as two of the best pages in the run.
  14. The OA in that auction is really, really great. Some really great art in there, and not just the WD stuff.
  15. Are you kidding ? http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&item=321440212134&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2565 ..and 10 copies went for $65 http://www.ebay.com/itm/OUTCAST-1-Robert-Kirkman-Walking-Dead-2014-10-copies-all-NM-9-8-lot-set-run-/281363078341?pt=US_Comic_Books&hash=item41828bdcc5 It appears there may be a shortage... It's not a shortage, it's a bottleneck, just wait until the bottleneck clears. haha ! No doubt. I was really hoping for a 3peat to with TWD and Invincible. So far, the jury is out as I've heard from people who love and hate it. I'm hoping I fall into at least " I kind of like it " category. It is fantastic IMO. How can they be "unsold" when it's still new comic book day? Most retailers order qty to have in stock for more than a few hours.. If there are piles there when #7 hits... ( assuming trade will collect 1-6 ) Then they're unsold.. New inventory that hasn't sold is still... ...wait for it... ...unsold.
  16. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the or one of the top subbed books. Top subbed modern books were the ASM Gamestop variants - I saw a handful of WD 127s go through the booth, but that was pretty much it  I subbed 4 9.8s. Don't see a need to grade a stack of 'em yet.
  17. I think this is the motivation for most flippers/resellers - its a hobby within the hobby. Some people like the research, chase and thrill of selling as much as they like the research, chase and thrill of collecting. Books with established sales, isn't the same at all of speculating on books yet to (or just have) hit the stands. Pretty sure most here do both.
  18. +1 What do you mean by BS? I am surprised at how many people took it as potentially being serious. I figured I would have some fun with the guy that posted he found a NWM #1 and asked if it would be worth anything.
  19. +1 What do you mean by BS? I mean I don't believe a word that comes out of E.S.'s mouth.
  20. I hope it's not that b.s. from the Nowhere Men thread about getting the next arc in the can for bi-weekly release.
  21. Bi-weekly Nowhere Men More like bi-yearly.
