  1. This is a series that will probably be more enjoyable when it's finished and you can binge read the trades. I absolutely think it's the best book coming out right now but that just makes it more painful when you have to wait a month or three for the next installment.

  2. Hmmm... it has the same name as the original and is more limited than the original.

    We've seen that before...

Spawn #1 vs. Spawn #1 Black & White (five years later)

ASM #300 vs. ASM #300 Chromium (eleven years later)

Since a lot of collectors don't ever do any homework, there's a good chance this "new" Batman Adventures #12 variant could be a cash cow... forever.

The huge difference between this and your examples is that both Spawn #1 and ASM #300 had ginormous print runs which certainly wasn't the case for BA #12. It's not really a legit comparison ...

So..it should be even more in demand than those.

    No, that's backwards.

A scarce reprint variant of a book with a monstrous print run is a cool alternative collectible; a more exclusive version of a book that everyone has. You can see this all the time with later printings of keys with huge print runs (Man of Steel 18 for example).

A scarce reprint variant of an already tough book doesn't have the same appeal IMO.

  3. Covers are all Capullo apparently. I heard some Batman interiors were on sale at NYCC 2013 I believe, but never followed up after hearing they were $2K+. I don't find that hard to believe considering the $50K price tag on the Batman 1 cover.

  4. Batman 40 combo pack appeared and then sold out at Midtown in around 1 min 30 seconds

I had it in my cart and it wouldn't let me check out. It said limit one, but sometimes they allow you to check out with a full 25. This may have led to the quick sell-out of this. They usually last longer than that with almost any book.

There probably just weren't very many of them.

  5. Combo packs are next week... I guess it will be quite the poop show then

So next week we'll see a combo pack for all three covers then? I guess I'll hold off buying the 1:25 variant. MTC is sold out on the Bats 40.

    Jerome

Combo pack is a variant color of the regular cover image packaged with a digital 'copy' of the book, not a collection of the variants.

  6. So what book would people value more right now?

    Valiantman's Rai 0 CGC 10.0 or a Bloodshot #0 Platinum Error CGC 9.8?

Tought call, Probably the Rai 0 CGC 10.0 but "just to have" I prefer the Bloodshot #0 Platinum Error

I'll have to take a look at the census to see how many Rai 0 10.0 there are.

There is 1 Rai #0 CGC 10 and Valiantman owns it. I would have to say the Rai has surpassed the Bloodshot platinum.

Rai 0 10.0 is more of a CGC rarity than a Valiant rarity, IMO. On a given day any 10.0 could be a 9.9 or vice versa. A Bloodshot #0 error is what it is and there just aren't many out there.

Not knocking your book, Valiantman. It's awesome - just prefer the Bloodshot :foryou:

  7. You young guys talking about scoring on Harby #10 boggles the mind.

As a "post-unity" non-variant, the only book that became worth anything originally was Rai #0.

After that, Harby #10 was *maybe* a $10 book (when Harby #1 was $150, 1993 dollars.)

Post-unity regular issues were mostly drek, even the "stars" like Shadowman #8, #16, Solar #14, Harby #10, etc.

    +1

    This is hilarious.

  8.

I see some auctions that Eternal Warrior 5 is the 1st FULL appearance. This true? Also see 2nd appearance, and/or 1st in continuity. Help. haha

EW #5 picks up where EW #4 leaves off. Rai #0 basically bridges the gap between the contemporary Valiant Universe (of the '90s) and the Valiant Universe in 4001. Bloodshot plays a part in that, but it takes place some time after the EW issues.

That's true, but Rai #0 was released first, which is why most consider that issue his first full appearance.
