  1. Wasn't there a Superman cover where trash was being thrown at him too?
  2. Another Krypto SPCA story, pretty nutty if I remember right
  3. Superboy 8, first appearance of Superbaby!
  4. Always liked this baby cover and the one on Adventure 356. Not even sure why sisnce I don't like most of the Superbaby covers.
  5. Superboy 131 is the first appearance of the S.C.P.A (Space Cnaine Patrol ...can't make this stuff up ya know). What's kind of cool is I believe the writers of the Krypto the Superdog cartoon from 2005-6 borrowed heavily from these stories. Dumb as all heck, but classic D.C. Dumb.
  6. Can't go too long without a Superbaby cover
  7. The first 80 pager and a nice reprint of 89
  8. Love the cover and colors on this one
  9. Kinda goofy, but I have always liked this issue and the Lana story
  10. Well, this issue does have the origin of Krypto
  11. Good luck feeding that fire, not sure I have seen any decent copies of that one recently.
  12. More of a Curt guy personally, although I admire the work Kurt did on Lois. He had one heck of a run, something like the first 80 issues consecutively. Can't say I am a big fan of his 70's work on Shazam though, I though that art was kind of childish. Kurts early work on Lois was very detailed and quite good. No one will ever beat the Swan though for covers, he was THE Superman artist imo.
  13. A note about this era of issues. I had two big buys that got me quite a few of these. One was way..way back around 1988 when I was at th SDCC I bout nearly 100 DC Superman title books from A-1 comics for about two bucks a piece, Moses of them from this Tim frame. I also had a source from the Comics Buyers Guide that I bought many issues from for 3-5 a piece. These two sources accounted for quite a few books from Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane, Action, World's Finest and Superboy.
  14. Superbaby, not a whole lot of appearances for him left. By 1965 that concept seemed kinda lame
  15. I recall liking the cover story on this one
  16. Ok, moving right along. A pretty cool cover on this one.
  17. These issues still for the most part contained three stories usually, a format that had been the standard for quite some time. With Marvel going in full swing by this time (1965) I have to believe that these books were getting a bit stale.
