There are a number of places that print comic books now. A Google search finds them. It's made publishing one's own comic in small numbers (100 is often a minimum) easy and not all that expensive.  You can get full color. But not on newsprint.

Sure you can, just don't buy newsprint on a roll. Buy it in 36x24 sheets instead and find a small printer who will run it 2/2 twice. The cost would be huge (20k?), but if you ran a 1000 copy run of IH181, you were picky and pulled 200 7.0 avg copies, with a little work, you'd probably clear half a mil.

More importantly didn't work on a CGC book as well  >:(

So I followed the asterisk, and found this:

Must spend more than $5. For select customers only. Check My eBay to verify your coupon eligibility.

I thought it was a general coupon, as it shows up as a banner on the home page, but I don't see an email telling me I'm eligible either. I don't understand the logic here... why promote a coupon on the front page to people who don't qualify for it?

ANOTHER EDIT: I figured it out. I didn't get an email, but on the item page, at the bottom of the buy-it-now box, there was a green $ icon that says "Get this item for [price minus $5] See how", with a link on how to use the coupon. Once I used it, I stopped seeing the banner. For what it's worth, I see it on my selling account but not my buying account.

  3. Congratulations, all! Your perseverance has paid off!  meh

I think it does make a difference, it’s a lack of creativity. Instead of creating a new character they’re trying to awkwardly shoehorn a minority into whatevever character.

While there might be an element of 'lack of creativity' present, don't discount the idea that anyone with the creativity to come up with a new and interesting character is not going to freely hand it over to a corporation as part of their work-for-hire contract.

    Midnight #3 Sept 1957

Cool post code Ajax/Farrell horror title.

Weak spine book nearly detached from cover. Cut a little short on right side. Minor edge tears and a couple light water spots. Has a grease pencil 10 cents on cover. Clean complete reader with nice interior pages.

    $15.

Would anyone be questioning this if he had just clarified that he was partly responsible for the Bronze Age revival/version of Iron Man? Similar to Miller’s work on Daredevil or Claremont/Cockrum on X-men. Layton definitely had nothing to do with the ORIGIN and initial creation of Iron Man.

Does Alan Moore credit himself as co-creator of Swamp Thing?

Bob Layton was born in 1953

Iron Man was first published in 1963

Bob Layton's claims, if true would make him the most prolific 10 year old the comics community has ever seen.

Now I need to repost this on Twitter and IG and tag him in it.

Please credit me as the creator of this insightful comment, please. :ohnoez:lol

any sig not in a yellow label slab is 'name written on cover'.  doesnt matter how well executed.

I've said in the past that an almost perfect scam is to forge a sig on the first page of the book (say, Jack Kirby), and submit the book for grading. The slab will have a note that says "Jack Kirby written in pencil on first page" or something to that effect. CGC won't verify it's a real signature, and the location will imply it's an old-school signature. The owner/seller of the slab will have a book that appears to be a legit signature without anyone seeing it. Buyer cracks the book and discovers it's fake? Can't return it because you can't prove it's what was in the slab.

Rough  reader, with plenty of  bits  gone  around  most  of the  perimeter  of  the FC,  more missing   upper  and  LH  edge  BC.  Old  tape  repairs
along  inside  spine,  light  water   BC.  Interior is  okay,   but  light  water  stains  throughout.

    Like  I  said,   rough  reader.

Gotta  be  close  to  the  end  of  the  Crestwood   Publishing  Co, this title  continues  the   numbering  from  Black  Magic.   First   of this  title  I've  seen.
Upper spine  split  to   first  staple,   small  tears  lower  staple,   and   a  couple  hundred  light  brown  spots FC.  BC  is  fine,   go  fig.
Otherwise   flat  and  tight,  white pages

    $10 for  the  oddball

  13. The other comments in the thread are correct. An eCheck is when the buyer pays from a bank transfer, as opposed to using a credit card or Paypal balance. Generally, buyers can skip eChecks when doing bank transfers by linking a debit card for their bank account with Paypal instead of a checking or savings account number.

eChecks are like real checks though, in that there is a possibility the eCheck won't clear if the buyer doesn't have the funds in their account and they don't have some sort of overdraft protection. That's kind of rare, nowadays, as most banks would be happy to clear that $90 check and whack the account owner with a $35 overdraft fee.

  14. Does anyone else own a copy of this? I'm trying to determine if the hardcover for #2 was available in two versions. The copy in the OP looks black, but a copy Heritage auctioned in 2003 looks blue:

Anyone have any insight? I know sometimes the lighting can be deceiving, but these look radically different to me,
