Ephemera related to the ""It's A Bird... It's A Plane... It's Superman" musical that appeared on Broadway in 1966. The musical had music by Charles Strouse and lyrics by Lee Adams. Based on the comic book character Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster and published by DC Comics, the musical was first performed on Broadway in 1966 and received generally positive reviews, but it failed to catch on w/the theater-going public and closed on July 17, 1966 after 129 performances. The musical received three Tony Award nominations. What's interesting is the the play producers used Marvel Comics graphics like "Fantastic" and "Classic" that appeared on their comics. Offered here is the original program, ticket stub and ticket envelope as well as flyer insert.  Some creasing and wear but VG overall. Uncommon.   $150   $125

Here is something you don't see everyday. A 1939 yearbook of "The Clintonian" for DeWitt Clinton High School in NYC. This was the senior class yearbook for STAN LEE. Pictures him under his real name "Stanley Lieber". Great picture and class bio for Stan. This book was owned by another student and has occasional signatures from students throughout. Condition is very clean and VG overall. This same year Stan's cousin Martin Goodman would start up Timely's comics division and Stan would join him there soon after. A very scarce item.    $650

So we have a rarity here. The Adventures of Detective Ace King published in 1933 by Humor Publishing. Drawn by Martin Nadle (later Naydel) who later drew for DC's Flash Comics - and who created the Jumble puzzle. This comic (along with Detective Dan) influenced Seigel and Shuster as they were coming up with the Superman character. Unfortunately the outer wrap has detached and split down the spine. Also the CF is detached. Some marginal tears. Light pencil notations and light staining on cover wrap. Internally clean. A good candidate to be restored as you just don't see these come up.     $700
