Two copies of the Pocket Guide to China. Early 1942 printing with the racist Milt Caniff comic strip "How to Spot a Jap" with Terry & the Pirates. Only the 1942 printing had this strip - it was dropped for all subsequent printings. Nice condition (overall VG+) on both books - one copy has a name inscription. For both - $100

An original 1-sheet movie poster (Chap 11) from the Spy Smasher serial by Republic Pictures. Based on the Fawcett Comics character. Considered one of the very best serials. Chapter 11 has what many consider to be the "most unique chapter ending of them all:" Spy Smasher is gunned down by enemy agents at point blank range and falls from the top of an office building to crash into the pavement below. In the resolution, the audience discover that Jack, Spy Smasher's brother, has knocked him out and stolen his costume. The real Spy Smasher turns up too late to save his twin. This is notable because in nearly every other chapter ending ever produced the person in danger manages to somehow survive. Wonderful graphics of Spy Smasher taking on the Nazi villain The Mask. Poster features the two lead characters in the photo inset. Condition is VG with some paper loss in the margins and fold lines. Would restore beautifully. Folded as issued. $250
Another poster from the Spy Smasher serial (Republic). This is from Chap 8. Used but in very nice shape overall. Some light paper separation by the fold lines in a small area. Would look wonderful framed. Folded as issued. $275

Nugget #1. The first issue of this long running men's magazine was the only one illustrated by the great comic book artist famous for his GGA. St John's answer to Playboy. Baker contributed to only the first issue before the untimely death of Archer St John. St John's son Michael took over and Baker and all of his father's associates were out. A beautiful copy!! $200

I used to own one of these myself (the Marston article with the cover wraps) and in bibliographic and antiquarian book collecting circles it is called an "offprint"
