Cocomalt's Big Book of Comics (1938 Harry Chesler). Don't be fooled by this cover - it has a nice eclectic mix of contents with Little Nemo by Winsor McCay to the science fiction hero Dan Hastings (drawn by Fred Guardineer). Also contains Jack Cole art. The cover is by Charles Biro. This is a very nice copy of this promotional book. Gerber gives it a scarcity index of 8.0 and OS calls it scarce. I'm calling it a 7.0 but am including detailed pics so you can decide. GPAnalysis has no recent sales in 7.0 grade (the last being $863 in 2005).

Skippy's Own Book of Comics. Circa 1934. Considered to be the 4th comic book ever produced. Published by Max C. Gaines and advertised on the Skippy Radio Show. It's the first comic book about a single character. RARE in Gerber. Overstreet calls it scarce. Looks like no recent sales. Pharmacy store stamp on this one as it was given as a premium. I would call this a 4.5 (maybe a 5.0 with a press). Nice supple pages inside. Asking

Just a one day listing at a super low price for this item. Closing this tonight. Much lower than other Cap Chapter One 1-sheets have sold for at the major auction houses. This is a nice item that fits in a Timely, GA or poster collection. Original poster is 27"x41" (about 33 1/2"x47" framed) and has been linen-mounted. Poster was printed by the Morgan Litho Corp. of Cleveland, OH. This is a rare poster from 1944 for Chapter 1, The Purple Death, and features nice graphics including large full body image of Captain America with gun rescuing female lead Lorna Gray from The Scarab's laboratory as gas canisters fill the room w/poisonous gas, aka the Purple Death. Poster was originally folded and has since been linen-mounted w/professional restoration including margin touch-ups and restoration along fold line and at fold crease intersections and area in letter M in America and small spot on Captain America's head. Displays excellent and now comes beautifully conservation matted and professionally framed under UV glass. See the pics for more details. $4500
