  1. Sharon is right about having the book in hand prior to the sale, it would help to avoid certain situations like these. The book turned out to have a flaw that was unknown to the buyer and seller alike. The seller assumed the flaw was something different. Once the book was in hand and the flaw became known the buyer should not have to complete the transaction. My
  2. You've exposed my inability to draw circles in photoshop....it looks like a toddler drew it. :: You know I love you so I didn't want to point out that my daughter could rock you on photoshop and she's in Pre-K.
  3. If the buyer altered or attempted to alter the deal multiple times and threatened at one point to let the seller do what they have to do, assuming in relation to the PL, doesn't it seem that eventually a reason was found to justify the trepidation? Assuming Spider-Dan is accurate in his chain of events, this wasn't a I'll take the book, then I get graders notes, then I don't feel comfortable with the book. There was already a lot of flexibility on the part of the seller with the multiple alterations to the original agreed upon deal. The question will be, does the grader's notes allow for a buyer to back out of a deal if the flaw is not disclosed, and I think it's fair to say not by malicious omission.
  4. That wasn't the point...but you know that. Don't you have some two year overdue commissions to wrangle out of someone? :: Hey Speedy, remember when you went out of your way, dedicating free time to make a large number of boardies whole. You are such a loser. Haven't I embarrassed you enough publicly? Please keep quiet while the adults are talking. Thank you :: Hey Shia Lebouf I'm not sure if you're going for irony by reposting what I say to you, but if you are you are about as funny as usual. You should realize mocking someone for being a good member and helpful to others is only helping your case of being one of the most useless members on these boards. Your flippant response does nothing towards invalidating my point. I apologize, you were saying how your personal relationship with the buyer should somehow make him immune from the rigmarole of the PL procedure. Then you attacked a boardie who does something positive for other members. We were all enthralled, please continue. If I was outmatched I would do the same thing sport. (Thumbs u It was fun while it lasted.

  8. Well regarded seller and a well regarded buyer. Unfortunate situation but the reputation of either participant should not matter in the least.
  9. The only thing that stands out to me is the bottom spine corner, visible from the back cover only. Is that a bend, a stain, or just a trick of the light? to which Dan responded... Later Bob bought the notes and they stated that it was in fact a stain and that it was across the entire book. That would scare the snot out of me too. This is a different story. This pic is just for Mike... he knows what it means ::
  10. Was that the case? Did the seller state he would accept returns? Most sellers won't take returns on 3rd party graded books. I was referring to the flawed logic being presented by another member.

  12. So if we operate on the basis that since the buyer could have changed their mind when the book was in hand and could have returned it, then every single member who is on the PL for not following through on a transaction should be removed.
  13. Can I ask on what basis you assume that a "no" vote equals support for scammers? You're just kidding, right? Not kidding Who wouldn't want to try to make the boards a better/safer place for sales by implementing some tighter rules with all the NOOB sellers/buyers around here in the past few months who can't take the time to read the rules of the forums, or try to scam someone out of money. Maybe giving a grace period to these new people will allow for the proper time to learn some board etiquette before buying/selling? Also, adding a waiting period for new sellers who are trying to scam may eventually drive them away from here because they don't want to wait weeks to be able to sell since they are looking for the quick $$$ from those people who are caught off guard. It also forces them to interact on the boards by having a post count and gives the rest of the community a chance to get a feel of who the boardie is before deciding to buy from them when they have 1 post. I'm a huge fan of scammers and voted yes. Guess your theory is right down the crapper.
  14. I have seen multiple situations when PL members run sales threads and a member reminds them they are on the PL. The only reason that the mods are in punishment mode is because of the new crop of clowns who don't know when to leave their brilliant and just ideas in their noodles and not post in others sales threads. They are making a point and I'm glad. Let them eat cake.
  15. We should have a 4th list of dealers who sell to PL and HOS members. I think members who are inclined to not deal with PL and HOS members would not be inclined to buy or sell to those who happily do.
  16. What is this nonsense going on? Why are members being hastily added to these lists only to be removed with a poll a few weeks later.? You realize this will renderer them completely useless in short order. I used to trust that sufficient vetting took place prior to POV and usually only POV adding someone to the list. This current system of arbitrary polls and immediate additions is ridiculous and it will erode any weight that that these lists used to carry. If someone can honestly be removed from the PL let alone HOS a month after their addition it stands to reason that their original placement was b.s.
  17. It's funny how you piled onto this considering how much you did this to me. I hardly call this attacking you. Ok. George. What do you want me to say, you win. I suck. Then why do you want to interact with me? I don't with you fella. Just ignore me. I didn't have a problem with you before, but after posting that notice in my sales thread for no reason, now I do. I don't care if it was just a joke or not, I don't care. I wasn't running that sales thread for the heck of it, but since you didn't seem to care, I'll thank you to stay away from any of my future threads. I thought that I was being a helpful member of this community, exposing the recent scammers and shysters, yet when I was coming to the boards to sell some books in order to help pay mounting bills, I get a "joke" post that may or may not have cost me customers because once they saw the notice, I wonder how many bothered to see your spoiler where you posted your GLWTS. I guess I'll just pull the books and try to figure some other way to pay my bills. Board camaraderie, indeed. Get over it. With the whores on this site if the price is right nothing less than a maternal porno would stop a buyer.
  18. Yeah it got scrubbed. What was the crapping, and who was dropping it? This stuff is getting tiresome. I say no one's allowed to post in sales threads without the permission of a Boardie from at least the class of '08. Preferably myself. You're a New Yorker Boston fan, you have zero credibility.
  19. If that Shakespearean Tragedy series of comments went over people's heads this one's in orbit. You know you're a fat guy when you see a beetle humping what appears to be a cheese puff and your first reaction is, those cheese puffs look good. Don't feel bad, I am only 165 and when I saw that photo I instantly wished I had bought some at the grocery store today I'm 6'3" 265ish and the beetle looks good as well.

  21. WRONG! Beanie Babies were once popular. That means they will always be popular! No bust for Beanie Babies! ugh what do you even do with beanie babies? I have three boxes I just don't know what to do with Give them to the 5 year old girl who's supposed to own them.
  22. I am enjoying the strikes and hope they increase ten fold. Fear and paranoia will be the new norm. I want this place to read like a Kafka novel. Thread krap at your own risk.
