Grapeape: I think that’s just a sign of dealers having less and less inventory that they bought when they had access to the artists or while prices were still cheap. As more and more of their inventory is bought at FMV at auction, double+ FMV asks become more and more the norm. Not to say that anyone will pay that necessarily but they are going to be more choosy about which sales they take because they have more sunk into it. When they say “I’ll happily take it home” what they are saying is “I’d rather take it home than get no return. I’ll wait for the perfect buyer.”

I see there is actually a page on ebay for once but its not a page I really dig and way above FMV. Anyone have any pages for sale? I'd be very interested in better pages. Paying $7,500 for this DPS if anyone has it.

F or G at most. Which isn’t THAT crazy in this day of enhanced busts. They are drawn with projection as though fake as opposed to lower hanging as though natural. More fullness in the upper pole of the chest. So Betty had a little help at the doctor’s office. Is she not allowed to be happy Gene? I respect her decision to alter her body in a way that makes her happy 🤗

I don’t buy that. At the end of the day if you’ve got the art someone wants nobody cares about post it vs printed. if it’s the comic they read when they were 11 or that their bad brought them home from 7-11 or whatever, none of that matters. if it’s a piece you really enjoy by an artist you like, none of that matters. It does look funny when you’re window shopping for pieces you aren’t going to buy anyways, but that’s not their customer.

Not the first time I've made this point but I don't think the artist drives the appreciation or depreciation too much anymore and I think it matters less every day. (I don't see these book covers appreciating significantly overnight either FWIW). I've always done really, really well on Boris and Julies but its because of which Boris and Julies I bought (subject matter) not due to the artists necessarily.
