  1. wow I didn't realize those two pages are being sold together. I would have thought they'd get more money separate.
  2. Good tips. A full sheet of illo board is 30 (not 32) by 40 as well.
  3. Maybe you're right. Looking from my own POV if the inks aren't published anywhere, I just kind of lose interest altogether. Other people may not have that issue.
  4. I did the same thing Barbarian....? Archie does look thirsty I guess..
  5. I was referring to the bikini bottom on the Veronica cover. It’s not drawn correctly IMO. The bottom on the Boris is fine.
  6. Oof. If that's the case, I'm running out of ways to justify 11k
  7. Well, if what I think happened (inked for publication as the game) is what actually happened, it can be sold as the game cover without any disclosures necessary. Its only if its sold as the comic cover that you'd need to get into all that.
  8. Jeremy, is the published version of the ps2 a line for line match to the inked version that sold? Or were the initial pencils digitally inked for the game and then the pencils reinked as a private commission or something?
  9. It does. Anyone else think her bathing suit bottom doesn't look quite right in that pose? I'm probably the only one that cares, but I always though it looked off.
  10. I actually thought the boris result was predictable TBH and I had predicted 72k on it in private discussions. I understand the 'mind blown' reaction as there hasn't been a public boris data point at that level, but even if we look only at public data points, the HA comps paint a picture: - pieces not on the same level (spaceship book cover?) getting 30k and the like recently - more interesting pieces like SSOC 10 getting 30k also... but FIFTEEN years ago! In other words, nothing had busted through that 30-40k level, but the items reaching the cap were progressively lower quality implying that a more desirable piece might bust right through that cap.
  11. with all respect to Mr Lieber, I see he got his instructions on how to sign things from his brother
  12. Yep. And honestly, that's not a $2m painting IMO, so in a way nice to see some sanity prevail although it sucks for the consignor. Byrne Iron Fist 15 didn't meet reserve either.
  13. I watched the auction as well and it seemed to me to end properly at 120,000. I wonder if the 132k you were looking at was the ask for the next bid.
  14. I haven't watched it yet, but I can imagine The guy did a few dozen covers over a 10 year period. He took his time! As you said though, can't argue results. His work will stand the test of time.
  15. I'm sure I fell for it more than once, but not many times for sure. I didn't mind books like Adventurers 1 where the variant cover was entirely new art. I suppose the xmen covers were like that too.
  16. what's better than one boring cover? 2 of them? 3? Getting warmer...
  17. I'm talking creatively. A really varied and interesting period and for me as about an 11 year old kid at the time there seemed to be more cool comics out there than I could possibly get my hands on.
  18. Any HOT list that includes Boris the Bear, Punisher, Groo, Swamp Thing, and Flaming Carrot is going to have a warm place in my heart. What a great time in comics.
  19. Almost no covers before 1965 exist in general. Except EC where everything exists.
