  1. Yes, I remember the Foom 2 thing. But come on.... that's not Wolverine. Interesting that it came out in '73 though.
  2. I'm sure this has been pointed out before, but I didn't know about it until today. We always debate between Hulk 180 & 181 when we think of Wolverine's 1st appearance. But did you know his first "mention" was most likely Hulk 179, where at the bottom of the last page it says, "Next Issue, Once more.... the Wendigo (and a Startling Guest Star!) This certainly doesn't increase the value of 179, but if nothing else it's kind of interesting. At the time they didn't realize the impact that the "Startling Guest Star" would have on the Marvel Universe. Again, sorry if this has been posted before, I just saw it and thought it was cool.
  3. SOLD Joker 12 - 1947 - (Marvel) - raw Complete This one is actually in very nice shape for what it is. The only problem is the front cover has overhang at the top and the back cover has overhang at the bottom which caused flaws at the top of the front cover and at the bottom of the back cover. Otherwise really nice. I'm going to say 5.0 - 5.5 grade $149.99 + $5.01
  4. SOLD Joker 15 - 1949 (Marvel) - raw - Complete Small size Spicy magazine. Square bound. Covers are still attached at the spine, but it's somewhat fragile where it hinges. Piece missing from top of spine. Small tears and creases. Small stains on back cover. 1.0 - 1.5 $35.00 + $5.00
  5. Hooey Annual 11 (1941) - raw - 1.5 Magazine sized cartoon comic from 1941. (lots of spicy art) The insides are all printed in sepia tones. Cover was meant to cut open so you could open a gate and see a goose goosing Hitler. So this cover has the gate clipped around, a small piece missing from the bottom (under the gate), and 2" diagonal tear going up under Hitlers legs. The rest of the mag is in mid-grade shape, with a pretty nice spine. $169.99 $159.99+ $5.01 shipping
  6. Action Comics 68 - raw 3.0ish The cover is just barely holding on at the staple (the staple is holding a "tab" of the cover). Just assume it's detached. The centerfold is detached. The spine has a tiny piece that is missing from bottom, and as you can see in the photo there is a tiny piece about to fall off the top (it did come off and will be inserted into the sleeve with the comic) . $224.99 $214.99 + $5.01 shipping
  7. SOLD Space Adventures 5 - raw unrestored 2.5 Cover attached at both staples. CF detached at the top staple. Small spine roll. 1" tear on free edge by the Planet's ring. Tiny hole on spine just above top staple (see 4th pic). Small creases and general wear. Distribution "overspray" at the top. $99.99 $89.99 + $5.01 shipping
  8. It's cuz the sub crease is on the back cover, like the GL 40
  9. Almost half of this collection has that same drug store stamp and the DW COOK. I think stamps are interesting.
  10. You can pretty much see all the flaws in the photos. Also the CF is detached at one staple.
  11. You can pretty much see all the flaws in the photos. CF is detached at one staple. The "crease" in the upper right is just a hint of a crease, super light & shallow (there's no evidence of the same crease on the inside cover), but against the dark back ground....
  12. So theoretically, since Primeval Earth has a red sun, if a "caveman" were rocketed off to a world with a Yellow sun, would the caveman have the strength & powers of Superman on that world?
  13. If the grade went as low as 2.5 it would truly be a travesty, when the comic presents as nicely as this. If the CF was firmly attached is 4.0 truly the highest it can go?
  14. My photos make the color look a little washed out, but it's not that way at all.... super deep colors. To me the front cover looks like a 7.5, gorgeous spine. However....... Back cover has a light subscription crease. And...... the cf is present, in great shape, but alas... it's detached (dang DC using crappy paper in this period) Do you think I could still get a 6.0 on this just from the merits of the nice front cover or are the other flaws to big to get that grade.
  15. Pretty nice copy. My photo kind of makes the color looked washed out, but it's not that way at all. The colors are vibrant. Nice spine, cover & cf attached at the staples. date stamp of some sort on the front, name stamp and store stamp on the back cover. Back cover has a couple spots of what I would call "Marvel Chipping" on the free edge. (So do we call it DC chipping?) Nice interior
  16. They said it was the Skeleton on a Caveman Wouldn't Superman know if that was his exact costume?
