  1. In the 90s... I got out of comics.... just wasn't interested. Got back in when ebay started around 2000 and I could find good affordable vintage comics. My wife & daughter went crazy with Beanie babies & Breyer horse models in the 90s My son & I went crazy with Vintage GI joes & Vintage Star Wars figures in the 90s Beanie Babies & Breyers = 00000000 $ Vintage GI Joe & Star Wars figures = I let my son have 100% of everything he and I amassed. I've looked up some prices and there's some good money there.
  2. I've put up bundles of 20 superman comics in NM condition from the 1990s for $.99 + shipping on ebay before and had maybe only 5 people even look at the auction over a 5 day period, with no bids. I'm just going to Goodwill that stuff from now on. If LCSs had nickel bins I don't even think it would sell.
  3. My daughter was clearing out her closet before she went into the military and asked me to sell bunch of her old beanie babies (you know... the ones that were going to make everyone rich). I thought just to be safe I'd start the bidding at $1 each. I thought that surely I'd get at least $5 each but...... I didn't even sell ONE. Drek is Drek. Comics from the 1990s are nearly impossible to sell.
  4. Another bump with lower prices. My ultimate goal with these is to gather up some $ to buy a nice Truck or SUV so........ if you've got a nice extra vehicle and want to trade maybe a deal can be worked out.
  5. These last two AF15s are spectacular. Congrats
  6. That's gorgeous. Which Avengers said that? Seems like something the Silver Surfer would say.
  7. Wow.... did Don Draper come up with this one?????
  8. I couldn't even bring myself to read this lame Flash story. But these two panels sum up the lameness. Alien guy apparently can come apart into pieces to fight Flash (somehow none of the pieces fall to the ground when he comes apart) Flash has tried punching him in the face to no effect. Then the guy states that his brains are in his hair. IN HIS HAIR???? WTF? And why would you tell your enemy where your brains really were. As you can see Flash just squeezes his hair to render him unconscious. It's SO dumb.
  9. I'm intrigued by the sound effect they chose, "BAM!"? Shouldn't it be something more like "Smack!" or "Whack!" "BAM" makes it seem like she has buns of steel (which maybe she does).
  10. I was looking thru a Flash comic from the 60s and saw this 1/3 page DC poem. I guess they couldn't sell an Ad in the space that month so the editor thought, "It's poetry time"
  11. Superman 2 CGC 4.0 with CR to OW pages This comic came out of a trunk in an attic (along with the Batman 2 I'm offering) directly to me. So it's basically a new to market S2. It hasn't been pressed or cleaned in any way (there's actually quite a bit that could be cleaned up on this cover) Recent Sales of S-2 include a 1.0 for $3250, a 3.0 for $6500, & a 5.0 for $10,800. $8250 $7999 $7699 shipped
  12. SOLD Batman 2 CGC 4.0 with OW pages This comic came out of a trunk in an attic (along with the Superman 2 I'm offering) directly to me. So it's basically a new to market B2. It hasn't been pressed or cleaned in any way. It has a 1-1/8" spine split at the top and a 1/2" spine split at the bottom.
  13. Tales To Astonish 27 CGC 6.5 with CR to OW Really tough book to find in grades above 5.0. $7500 $7250 $6999 shipped
  14. Sgt Fury 1 CGC 7.5 with WHITE PAGES This was a 9.0 SL with some tiny CT spots on the spine that I had removed. Comic still looks amazing (look at those corners!) As a bonus.... White pages. $4100 $3999 $3789 shipped

  16. You're right, my friend was very proficient, and extremely gifted, but I always saw him as an entertainer. I have no clue if he ever was in a real fight.
  17. A very good friend of mine was a Black Belt of many levels (I don't know which martial art form he practiced but he was SO impressive). He was so agile and competed/won martial art creative skill competitions that ESPN put on. His signature move was throwing 2 boards into the air above his head in front of him, leaping up and breaking the boards with his feet, flipping over, and landing back on his feet again. (He was a great looking Asian American, a really decent human being, and seriously would have been perfect casting for Shang Chi) Long story short..... he was at a Drive-In movie with his Girlfriend and ran the battery down in his car so it wouldn't start. He got out of his car and went to one of the next cars to ask for help jumpstarting his car. He knocked on the window of the car, the window rolled down and the guy in the car shot him 3 times in the chest, then drove off (leading the cops on a high speed chase through my city, where one of the cops ended up hitting and killing a pedestrian during the chase). It was tragic in so many ways. I always thought of my friend's skill set as the closest thing to a superhero that there was, but ..... if someone quickly pulls a gun on you and fires 3 times from point blank range, there's simply not a lot that your martial arts are going to do for you.
  18. "The impact will lift the enemy off the ground" Or should it say, "The enemy will jump up off the ground when you grab his nut sack?"
  19. "Monkey steals the Peach" Not to be confused with "Monkey goes for the Banana" "Is Bravery ALONE enough to stand up against guns....?" Are they saying their "bare hands" defense techniques can go up against GUNS?
  20. This is an Ad on the back cover of one of my comics. Since when does "defending yourself" involve bending someone backwards over your knee and shoving your hand in their pants? Is this self defense or foreplay? Or is this a front wedgie? Of all the images they could have used....... this one really seems weird to me.
  21. My wife and I watched it last night and I have to say I was disappointed. It wasn't horrible, but there was nothing that really stood out. I don't fault Disney for asking for the $30 fee (movies are expensive to make). We split the cost between 3 of my family's households (what a bargain). Something about the effects/greenscreen bothered me (I was noticing them too much).
  22. I've been selling comics daily on ebay. And I've been getting notices daily from ebay that money is going into my checking.
